Kaylee loved New York. She loved the noise, everyone in a hurry. She especially loved it's excitment. The most beautiful place in New York City was Central Park. Take one of the most dirtiest places on earth, everything made of medal, and stick a plot of grass in the middle of it. Kaylee walked slowly down the side walk with her hands in both pockets of her short jean mini skirt. She wore her favorite brown leggings with the skirt and a light pink buttoned down shirt. Her hair was curled earlier that day, but she got sick of it's bounce and put it up. She continued walking until she found a bench, and sat down. Was it weird that she enjoyed watching people? She loved sitting and just looking at people as though they were on the other side of a viewing glass. She wondered if this was a normal routine for them, or if it was their first time to the city. She wondered if the older men had gorgeous wives, or if the beautiful women were models she'd seen on some billboard.

Shane had decided he wanted to go for a drive to New York. He'd only ever been once before and that was because his father had had a buisness meeting somewhere in the city. That had been a good day- just him and Jayde doing their thing in the streets. They'd even stopped to play their guitars to see how much money they could make. Of course, they'd made plenty and managed to buy a cup of coffee and a muffin- quite a feat for two California boys that had never been to NYC before.
Shane made his way down the street, his hands in the pockets of his Black hoodie, his head covered by the hood of said sweater. It was warm enough to pull that off today, but later on that night he was sure the comforts of the heater in his car would please him greatly. He kept his head up, looking around him at all the passers by, quite entertained really. There was a lady trying to keep her maniac jack russel under control, another who had her kid on a leash talking into a cell phone...kid on a leash. He remembered those days and chuckled.
Unfortunately, that chuckle ended as soon as he felt something soft mush under his shoe. He stopped dead in his tracks on one foot, a disgusted, horrified look growing on his face. He whipped his hood off, peering down to look at the bottom of his shoe. Dog Pattie. "Ew." He said, his eyes growing wide. THIS IS WHY PEOPLE WERE SUPPOSED TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEIR DOGS!!! "Ew...ew...ew..." He muttered, scraping the bottom of his foot on a clear patch of sidewalk. This was disgusting. What if someone had seen? Oh god. He looked up to see a stunningly attractive young blonde sitting on the bench opposite him. He laughed sheepishly, secretly wanting to cry. "Don't you hate it when that happens?" He asked, wiping his shoe on a small grass patch on the other side of the sidewalk to her. Bah, he wouldn't be suprised if she threw something at him.

She tapped her heels on the ground, she did this when she's bored. She looked around at all the billboards. She wished she could be on one. She'd always wanted to be in the spotlight. When she looked back down she saw a guy stepping in dog poop. She giggled a little bit but automatically felt horrible. How embarassing would that be, I wouldn't want someone laughing at me. She stopped and covered her mouth. "Yes, I do. I haven't done it in years though. Do you need any help?" She said standing up.

(I hope you didn't mind me posting! Sorry, should have asked before hand lol)
"Well, I'm very glad you at least know my situation." He laughed, shaking his head at himself. He didn't mind her laughing at him- hell if he had seen it, he would probably be rolling around in the aisles. "You know what..." He said, looking at the bottom of his shoe when she asked if he needed any help. He looked back up to her with a grin on his face. "We're good." He laughed, checking one more time, but the bottom of his white-again shoe. "Slightly embarrassed," He added, "but good nonetheless." Well, no one could say it wasn't quite the entrance. "I'm Shane." He said, offering her a hand to shake- he hadn't touched his shoe, or he wouldn't have even bothered offering her the hand-shake, that would just be nasty.

She shook his hand gently with a warm smile. "Shane, it's nice to meet you, I'm Kaylee Ann, but please.. just call me Kaylee. Never really liked the Ann part.".
Her heart sunk a little bit, she felt bad for the guy, I mean he'll have to smell like dog poop where ever he walks now. She had an idea. "Hey, I'm not sure if you'd want to, but I feel kind of bad. Would you like to help me pick out some new shoes for you?" She said running her fingers through her hair.

That was the part he was most dreading, and she just completely wiped that all away for him. No one wanted to walk around smelling like doggy-doo for the entire day. He had enough shoes at home to last him forever, but they wouldn't do much good here now would they? "Ahh, I think that's a wonderful idea Miss Kaylee, it'd be very much appreciated." He said with a grin and a believeable nodd. These trainers were getting old anyway, and as much as he didn't want to admit it, there was a hole beginning to grow at the hell of them. "Question though, what do we do with these ones?" He asked akwardly, looking down at the tatty old things. He cleaned them as often as possible, so they were still white. Plus, things didn't get that muddy in California, but hey. What could a guy do?

She laughed, and was thankful he agreed. She always got rejected, and hated the feeling of being rejected. She had a better idea. "Well if we got new ones, we should throw those away, or possibly even give these to a homeless guy. They're nice shoes, so I feel bad giving them up. She said shrugging her shoulders. She felt bad making him spend money on new shoes. I could get them for him She thought to herself. No, would that be trying too hard. She started to feel faint, her body did that to her sometimes when she hasn't eaten much, and she's tired. "Where do you live?" She questioned. Maybe he would let her go back with him, she was feeling really tired and his shoes did smell.

If he had known she felt bad about getting him to buy a new pair of shoes, he probably would have laughed. Not at her, at the entire situation. He had more than enough money for a pair of new shoes, considering how much older these were looking by the minute.
"Right now i'm staying in the dorms over at Rutherford in Jersey, pretty exotic i'm well aware." He laughed, but he noticed something change in her rather rapidly. "Are you okay?" He asked, looking down into her face with quite a fair bit of concern. He didn't think his shoes smelled THAT bad, he had wiped them off on the wet grass quite well. "If you want I can run in and grab a pair quick myself and then take you home?" He offered. He really wouldn't mind. "Or maybe we can go get you something to drink?"
