((It's okay, hun!))
Feeling his hand gripping hers in support, Lexi turns to look at Christian's warm eyes, feeling a little uncomfortable about her dream earlier. She wanted to spend some more time talking to Christian, it made her feel a little more comfortable, and she felt she could tell him things that she couldn't before. Were they getting closer, or was she just looking for someone who knew what had happened, so she didn't have to tell anyone else? Maybe a little bit of both.
Lexi sighs, as Christian offers to go to the police station, and try to find out what happened. Still unsure about the whole thing, she shakes her head slowly, as she releases his hand and it's firm grip. "I guess, Christian, I'm just not sure about everything. I do want to know, and I don't want to know. But go ahead and try, see what you can find out. I need to be going anyway." Reaching down for the cheap slippers, she slides them on her feet, and looks at the floor for a long time. She wants to say more, but she isn't sure what she wants to say, so she stays quiet.
Turning to look at Christian again, she tries to smile, and leans up against his arm. "Thanks again, for everything. I don't know what I would have done without you." She really meant it, it had been a good thing that he was around. She was so lucky to have someone like him available to help her when she was in trouble. And she thought she would have to do something really nice for him. Biting her lip, she rubs her face a little with her hand, trying to wake up the rest of the way. "Can you call me a cab? I'll need to go to Huntley in it, I don't feel like taking the train." She didn't want to leave, but she knew that she had to go. And she didn't want to take Christian away from everything else that he needed to do. Lexi had some decisions, and some phone calls to make, when she got back to school.

Christian nodded slowly, feeling a hint of regret when her small hand left his own. It only lasted for a few seconds, though, because he remembered where he was and what was happening. Neither of them were really in a position to seize hold of each other and just enjoy the other's company; both of them were reliving uncomfortable events in their heads. Even memories could affect a person in the way the physical event could.
"I can't guarantee I'll find anything out, but I'll do my best," he said quietly. He followed the motion of her feet and then kept his eyes on the same space on the floor she was looking at. The comfortable silence was fading a little, but he was determined to cling to it for as long as he could.
When she turned to look at him, he met her gaze with a soft smile. She leaned against his arm and he felt the smallest tingle in his skin. It was almost like giving in to an addiction. You can manage to stay clean for awhile, but when the temptation is dangling in your face you can't help but take advantage of it - even if it is to the most minor degree imaginable. For Christian, it was just sitting there and enjoying the feeling of her skin touching his own. He missed that familiar comfort more than he realized.
A cab. She was ready to go now. The soft expression on his face on his face drained and melted into one of forced professionalism. Nodding again, he said, "Sure." Reaching up to squeeze her shoulder, Christian pushed himself up into a stance and said, "I'll be right back." Walking into the kitchen, he picked up his cell phone and arranged for a cab to be outside his apartment complex.
"They should be here in five minutes," he told her once he had hung up. Pulling out his wallet, he counted out several dollars and held them out to Alexia. "That should get you back to Huntley. Will you call once you get on campus so I know you made it there ok?" he asked, his gaze meeting hers and not moving. OOC: I wasn't sure if she would still be in the bedroom or would have come out into the living room/kitchen area, so I just left that detail in the air.

The change on Christian's face when she said that she needed to leave was almost enough for her to change her mind. The gentle touch on her shoulder, and suddenly getting to his feet made Lexi want to reach out to him, and pull him back down, next to her. But there would be other moments, and hopefully, other opportunities for her to get closer to Christian. If she could keep working on him, maybe there would be something between them. Or maybe not, only some time could tell.
Looking around the bedroom, and sighing, after he left the room, Lexi got slowly to her feet, and turned toward the bed. She was really starting to feel stiff and sore, and the bruise on her hip was very tender. But she made an effort to quickly make the bed, and she managed to do a halfway decent job with it. One last sweep of her hand to smooth down the comforter, and she followed Christian into the kitchen.
Trying to hide her regret with a small smile, she sees him hanging up the phone, and she nods, sighing slightly. As he pulls out his wallet, and hands her some money, Lexi knew she had some money left, but she might need the extra that he was offering her. Slowly taking the money from his hand, she meets his gaze, a hint of sadness in her dark eyes. A tear forms in one eye, she can't seem to stop it, she was trying so hard not to be emotional. He had done too much for her already, and she couldn't ask him for more without feeling really guilty about it. Sliding the money into her pocket, she bites her lip, unsure of what to do next.
Acting on a whim, she quickly walks the few feet between the two of them, and throws her arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace. Standing on the tips of her toes, she gently kisses his cheek, and looks into his chocolate eyes, trying not to cry again. "Once more, you are doing so much for me, and thank you. And I will call you, once I get back to my room." Frowning slightly, as she looks away, she is thinking about his planned trip to the police station. She didn't really want to know anything, she wasn't ready yet. Sighing, as she still clung to Christian, she needed to tell him what she wanted. "Even if you find out something, don't tell me, until I ask you. I might... I might never ask you, but please wait until I do. I may be ready to find out, some day. But not today." Turning to look up at his face, with a sad smile, she wanted to stay longer. But she knew she needed to go, and now was the best time to do it.

She seemed hesitant to take the money he was holding out to her. Christian saw the crystal tear form in her eye and his brows furrowed in concern. He didn't want to see her cry again; he preferred the Alexia with smiles and bubbly, giggly retorts. He liked playful banter and talking over drinks instead of tears and sorrow. But then again, nothing can always be beautiful or perfect - flaws exist in every person and every relationship. Christian was well aware of that, but he sometimes wished he could just pause time long enough to drink in the happy events.
Christian was just about to take a step closer and pull her back into his arms to hug her and tell her everything was going to be alright when he suddenly felt her arms wrapped tightly around his firm figure. Her lips brushed his cheek and he was gazing at her only a second later. He saw the sadness lingering in her expression and ran his hand up and down her back. "I'd do just about anything for you, Lexi," he said, looking down at her with a supportive smile. Christian wrapped his own arms around her shoulders and hugged her tight. "It will all work out, I promise."
While she spoke of the police station, Christian stroked her hair comfortingly. A small frown touched his features, but she was below his chin and unable to see it. It faded a little when he felt her move to look up at him. Nodding, he swallowed the uncertainty growing in his throat and said, "You have my word." His expression was solemn and serious as he looked down at her.
"Come on, I'll walk you out." Giving her a final squeeze around the shoulders, Christian released her from his grip. He didn't want her to leave yet, but if he was going to go down to the station he needed to get going. His personal curiousity was beginning to blend with her inquiry to figure out who had been in that cell with her. Christian wanted to know now; the more time that passed, the more he wanted to find out.
Unlocking the apartment door, Christian guided Alexia into the hallway before closing and locking the door back. He had his cell phone and wallet in his pocket and didn't need anything else. He would catch his own cab to the police station once he saw Lexi off safe and sound. Keeping his hand on the small of her back, Christian led her around the corner, into the elevator, and eventually through the lobby doors and onto the bustling New York sidewalk. Her cab was already sitting there with the back door pushed open just enough to let the slender girl slip in.
"If you need anything..." Christian looked down at her, his eyes soft but genuine. "You know I'm here." Smiling gently down at her, he wrapped an arm around her shoulder and gave her a brief, final hug.

Lexi found that she liked being in Christian's arms, and his firm embrace was very comforting for her. As he made his promise, she looks up at him, with her dark eyes glistening from unshed tears. Returning his smile with a small one of her own, she didn't want to leave that spot, ever. But that was a little unrealistic, and she held onto him, not wanting it to end. And he was so considerate, it was almost like he would go out of his way to help her. Was there something more there, that she wasn't able to see, coming from him? Or was he just being extra kind and tender hearted, because of what happened to her?
Lexi didn't linger on this thought, as Christian released her, and offered to walk her out. She would have plenty of time to think about it later. As they walked down the hallway, and into the elevator, she could feel his gentle touch on her, and she sighs. She was going to have to think of a way that she could help him, she felt so much in debt to him now. That was not the way she usually was, she tried to be so independent. But in her time of need, Christian was there, and he was saying he would always be there. She wanted to believe that, wanted it to be true, and she never wanted to lose touch with him.
As they walked outside, Lexi stops, just in front of the cab's open door. She feels Christian's arm gripping her again, and she gives him one more brief, spontaneous hug. Looking up at him, smiling softly as she looked into his brown eyes, she sighs. "I know, Christian, and I'll be fine. It might take some time, but I'll be okay. Thank you so much, for everything. I'll keep in touch." She stands there for a short time, her arms around his waist, leaning back enough to look up at him. One more hug, and she lets go, backing up toward the cab. Climbing into the back, she glances at him, with a smile on her face, waving with a slight movement of her small hand. Closing the door, she tells the driver where she wants to go, and looks out the window at Christian, as the cab pulls away. What would he find out, when he went to the police station? And did she ever want to know? Trying not to think about it, she watches out the window, wiping at her eyes, and wishes the cab would hurry up and get there.
