"Is that a royal we?" He asked, arching an eyebrow down at her and laughing. "Cause I don't know about you, but I think I look far better in my jeans. I highly doubt a paper bag would do much for my figure." Of course he was kidding, and naturally he laughed at the thought of himself in a paper bag.
Her music was playing loudly in his stereo, and of course he didn't mind one bit. But it was certainly different from the metal and rock he listened to. He slowly turned to face her, a nasty look on his face, but burst into another laugh when she stuck her tongue out at him. "Watch it lady, I'm the driver here." He flicked the station to another one, playing something rather loud but not too obnoxious. Her screech at the sight of their destination didn't scare him whatsoever, he had to pull a rather nascar evasive movement to get into the parking lot, but he managed it.
"Oh! Fine!" He said, taking off after her, pressing the button that locked his car and catching up to her with quite a bit of ease. He pinched her sides and snickered, hoping it would throw her off as he overtook her, heading for the doors at top speed. This was a kid who spent the first 12 years of his life running from cops and old men with shotguns, he was a speedy little shit. "WOOP!" He laughed, pulling into the first available parking spot

Kaylee laughed nodding. "Yup, I did say WE. Meaning you and I." She laughed some more. She thought about Shane in a paper bag and actually she didn't think it sounded so bad. "Actually, that might be cuter than your jeans. They're looking kinda crappy." She said playfully winking. "We'll make a new fashion statement, take sexy photo's in the paper bags."
Shane's car was one of the most comfortable places she's been in. She didn't know what it was, whether because it was his or because it wasn't a limo. She stuck her tongue out and surprisingly he didn't care. She agreed, she better be careful, he could do some crazy stuff in this car. She began to tickle him a bit softly, not to distract him from his driving too much.
"Nicee job making it in the parking lot!" She exclaimed, quite proud of the parking job he made. She quickly exited the car knowing that she would never stand a chance against this guy. She could tell simply from his muscular body that running wasn't an unfamilar thing to Shane. He pinched her sides and she jumped and squeeled in laughter. "OH! I'm gonna get you! You're such a cheater" She said running to catch up with him. Finally he reached the door and threw up his arms in victory. She laughed a bit. "I would have won if you didn't cheat!" She said jokingly.
They grabbed a cart and entered the grocery store. She looked over as Shane followed next to her. She laughed a little bit quietly to herself and finally looked over at him again. "We look like a married couple." She joked. Of course they were too young to be a married couple bit it was still funny. As they turned down one of the last aisles she looked into one of the corners. She couldn't help but think that'd be the perfect spot to take someone in her arms and just kiss them. She had already tried something like that with Shane and he responded weirdly. Maybe his thoughts had changed.

There wasn't much of a gap of time before she reached him and he laughed when she finally did. "Oh you're just a sore loser." He said, throwing his arm around her shoulder casually as they made it through the front doors in one piece. Well, two pieces really but both of them were in tact. You get the point.
Shane laughed at her comment about the two of them looking like a married couple. Of course he knew she was joking, and he could play along. "Oh yes, I can see it now. The two of us, bumming around the house while the kids play out in the pool, the dogs running around going apeshit after the cats and the bird flying around in the rafters shitting on the chandelier." He joked, looking down at her and nodding officially. "I think it sounds absolutely picture perfect."
He led her down one of the aisles and just started throwing random stuff in the cart. For the most part he didn't know what on earth it was- mostly canned pasta and junk food. But hey, how else was a teenage boy supposed to survive living on his own?

Kaylee pretended to pout a bit. "I am not!" She said jokingly sad. "You're mean. I don't like you." She pushed the cart a bit faster in front of her trying to walk away from him. She finally cracked a smile to herself as she turned around and looked at him. She stuck her tongue out again. She decided she liked doing this to him a lot. It was her playful thing she did. As she stood next to him again and they walked he spoke of their ever so perfect life that they'd have as husband and wife. She giggled mostly throughout it. She nodded as he finished. "Shane, darling, that sounds wonderful." She laughed a bit and stood on her tipy toes a bit and kissed his cheek playfully and softly.
As he guided her down another aisle she watched as he threw whatever he wanted into the cart. "HEY hey heyy." She said picking up a box of chocolate donuts. She laughed "Do you REALLY need this?" She smiled. "Don't you want to keep up your ... " She just stared at it, not really knowing what to say. Finally she gave up. "fine, your SEXY body" She smiled. "You don't want to get too chubby" She said jokingly patting his abs a bit.
Wow, was all she could think of. Yeah, she had seen them. Like seen them, but their is a huge difference because seeing and touching. Touching is way, way better. Could she touch a bit more.. just a little? She wanted to so badly. But of course she wouldn't. Hell they were in the middle of a frozen food aisle.

Shane made a face when he kissed her cheek, but kissed the tip of her nose in return. Just because he could. He liked hanging out with her, grocery shopping had never been so much fun.
He was quite happy throwing random stuff in his cart before she stopped him. “Oh hush. Nothing will EVER ruin my lovely figure.” He said, grabbing another box of Kraft Dinner and throwing it in his cart, just to defy her. “Besides…I have the metabolism of a thing with a very good metabolism.” He laughed, bumping her hip with his own playfully. That was one thing he had inherited from his father- he could eat his own body weight a day and never gain a pound. Of course when Christmas and Thanksgiving came around, another song was sung but that’s what holidays were for right?
“And you’re just jealous.” He said, taking over the cart and driving away from her, smirking to himself. She’d catch up soon enough.

Kaylee giggled a bit as he kissed the tip of her nose. "Thanks!" She said happily taking the cart and pushing it around corner after corner. She rolled her eyes at him.
"Sure. EVER? I doubt that." She laughed. "I bet if you sat on the couch all day eating tons of ice cream and cheeto's and pizza and fries and.. you know. other stuff." She named food after food after food. Shane just looked at her and laughed. "THEN you'd get fat!" After listing off about 15 foods she was finally done proving her point. She laughed hard as she listened to him speak.
"Do you talk much?" She began to mock him a bit. "A thing, of a thing, of a thing." She giggled playfully as she teased him. Poking his side hard. She knew he was going to come after her so she picked up a bag of frozen peas and placed it in front of her face hiding from him. She couldn't help but laugh and laugh.
Finally he took the cart and ran away. She threw the peas back into the spot that she found them and ran after him. "Heyyy you bully, get back here." She yelled a bit. She ran up behind him and threw her arms around his stomach, standing behind him. "GOTCHA?" She smiled not letting go of him. Finally when he turned around she looked up at him smiling softly.

He did jump when she pinched his sides, but he just turned around and glared at her. "Mature, real mature jerk. You know you're just jealous of every aspect of me because I'm perfect and there's no doubt." It took him a lot not to burst out into laughter at that, but he managed and he sneered, turning away from her again and making his way down the aisle. He snickered to himself as he could hear her feet padding quickly behind him to catch up.
The arms that wrapped around his stomach stopped him dead in his tracks, but they didn't feel too bad. He had to smile as he turned around and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, hugging her to his chest. "Always." He smiled, kissing the top of her head and ruffling her hair with his fingertips. He had only known her for a day, but he was incredibly comfortable with her. He was confused, but he was comfortable, and that was okay with him.

Kaylee rolled her eyes as Shane speaked. "Sure. Sure. Perfect. Every aspect" She pretended to stick a finger in her throat making a gagging motion. She laughed a little bit and smiled at him. She knew that they both could throw insults back and forth to each other and neither of them would take it personally.
As she reached up and wrapped her arms around his torso there was a slight peace that came about inside her. She'd never really hugged Shane before, but she quickly decided that it was probably one of the most comforting and favorite things to do. Her arms fit so perfectly around him that she felt that they might be meant to be more than just good friends. They were good friends though, practically best. Shane turned around and looked at her, kissed the top of her head and ruffled her hair. As he kissed her head she wished he'd stop and look into her eyes and kiss her lips instead.
Some guys are commitment scared, she didn't really think Shane was the type. Some guys are just players, she REALLY didn't think Shane was that type either. There was some reason he didn't want a relationship. She wished they could talk about it. She really felt that there was something between them that was stronger than just friends. she was scared though. She knew if she brought anything up he might just deny anything, and simply because of the fear of the topic loose all feeling he might have for her. She didn't want to get married, she didn't even really want an intense relationship. She just wanted to show and receive affection. She was one to take things slow and would rather think about things before making bad decisions. But she really felt that if Shane and Kaylee were to hook up, it would be the furthest thing away from being a bad decision.
She spoke quickly and softly. "You're the sweetest guy I've ever met" and with that finishing statement she took the cart and directed it in the direction of the mac and cheese.

“Hey, hey. You think I’m sexy woman, shut your mouth.” He laughed, giving her a little squeeze before her arms found their way around his torso comfortably. He didn’t know hugging a person in a supermarket could feel so natural, and a little part of it surprised him. Every part of being with her surprised him really. He had never felt so comfortable just being him around a girl before. He rested his lips on the top of her head as she kept a hold of him, and he didn’t mind one bit. The store was empty; they weren’t in anyone’s way or blocking the aisle.
It wasn’t that Shane was exactly scared of commitment, he was more scared of falling for her, having her fall for him and then end up being disappointed in him when she wasn’t what he expected him to be. Some people dated cause they felt like they were obliged to. Like they had been friends for so long the next step was to date and it was as simple as that. No emotional attachment, just a duty for the sake of publicity. He knew that wasn’t the case here, but he felt like he should be weary of the way he was feeling after knowing her for such a short period of time. He knew himself well enough, but he was unsure of how he felt now: whether or not he was feeling this way because a part of him was incredibly lonely or if his feelings were pure and genuine.
He was completely genuine when he said he’d always be there for her. He was completely genuine when he told her she was an amazing person and he was completely genuine when he told her she was beautiful. He had grown up around beautiful girls, but she knocked spots off of many of them. He heard her soft whisper when she slipped out of his arms and he watched for a moment as she walked ahead of him. It didn’t take him long to figure something out. He caught up to he and rest his hands on her hips as a familiar slower song played over the grocery store radio. “Dance with me.” He whispered in her ear, a request that meant for her and only her. They were at the back of the store and it was empty accept for the few people behind the counter. Besides, they were busy cleaning and the like. It was a request, but he wouldn’t take no for an answer.

She nodded very matter of the fact. "Ok. Yes. Yes you are." She smiled a bit more. It was true, she thought Shane was one of the most attractive men here at Rutherford. She wasn't sure if it was looks alone, or if it was his amazing personality that she couldn't help but be drawn to him. That's really how she felt. She knew they had only known each other a very short period of time but she couldn't help herself. She was drawn to him. Every aspect of him made her smile. She knew that he could have the worst flaws, or tons of downfalls to him, and she wouldn't care a bit. That's what being friends was, right? They could have killed someone, and you would still care for them.
Growing up the way she had, she was prone to disappointments. But the positive thing that came out of this was that later in life, when their were flaws put in front of her, she wasn't disappointed. Her whole life was looked upon as a disappointment to society, so how could she judge. If she grew up learning anything, it was to love people for their downfalls.
Kaylee had to admit to herself that she was a bit scared herself. She knew that she shouldn't be drawn to him in the way that she was, but she couldn't help herself. That was the thing that maybe scared her the most. She couldn't help any of the feelings she was having. Shane had proven to be much more than she ever expected. From the first day in Central Park to that second together her thoughts of him flourished to so much more. He had proven he could care for her, knowing her deepest secret, and to her that meant the world.
He whispered softly into her ear and all of her body seemed to freeze, all but her smile. Her smile widened and she turned around slowly, showing her face to him. She looked up and without a word escaping from her mouth she nodded slowly. There were very few words spoken between the two of them, just the simple softly music playing on the radio. She walked a few steps away from the cart, looking around the store. Not a single soul seemed to be within feet of them. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her body against his softly. They stepped slowly within the beat of each other. She pressed of the side of her face to his chest and shut her eyes softly continuing to step with him. For a split second it had dawned on her, that for once she felt lucky.

A lot of girls would have called him an idiot, told him he was crazy and that their reputation was far above dancing with him in the middle of a grocery store. But not this one, and he was glad. She was far too down to earth for that nonsense. He smiled too as she wrapped her arms around his neck, wrapping his own around her torso and pulling her close. He rested his head on top of hers and pulled her a little big closer, liking the feel of her small body in his arms. It was the most random picture of them all, but perfect nonetheless.
The palm slowly traveled up and down her back and he closed his eyes, swaying slowly back and forth with her to the sound of the music playing over the speakers. The romantic in him told him that there was no place better in the world right now, and his logic agreed. Who was to argue with logic?
Shane knew this was crazy. He had known this girl for what? Eight hours maybe, and here he was dancing with her in the middle of the supermarket. But all the same, he felt connected to her. There was something about the two of them that just made sense. She had felt comfortable enough to tell him about her mother, how much more trust can you have for a person after telling them that? He felt like it was quite obvious that she was comfortable with him and he felt so natural around her he couldn’t help but be comfortable. How many people in a lifetime did this happen to?
He was positive she’d be able to feel his heart beating in his chest, relaxed but excited all the same time. The pattern was rhythmic but quick and there was nothing he could do to slow it down. He let go of her and took a hold of her hand, spinning her and bringing her back in gently- wrapping his arms around her again and smiling as he kissed the top of her head. “You’re very beautiful when you smile.” He whispered to her, again just so she was the only one that could hear.

She felt like a child, happiness stretched across her face. There wasn't anything more innocent then dancing in a grocery store. She could tell that Shane had a romantic side, and it made her feel more relaxed and she respected him more. Out of her whole life, there was probably only a handful of men she knew that would be comfortable doing such a thing. But she was sure only 2 out of those would actually be the one to instigate it.
A few moments passed as she just laid her head against his chest. The feeling of his hands on her back to his lips on her head were so new, so refreshing. As she listened to his chest, she was sure she could hear his heart. The soft beating almost gave her a new beat to dance to. As she heard his heart hers began to beat a bit faster. It was so nice to be in the arms of someone bigger, someone who cared. She looked up at him and smiled, he took her hand, twirling her. As she separated from his within the twirl the air hit to arms. She felt cold and bare, unprotected. Within seconds she was brought back into his arms and she was comforted again.
It was amazing to feel the difference of being in someone arms to standing by herself. But she knew it was something they were both enjoying. She felt his lips brush gently against his ear. He whispered sweet words to her and she continued to smile some more. She responded back to him in the same whisper. "Thank you." She said happily. "Why do you have to be so perfect Shane." Kaylee said in the littlest whisper she wasn't even sure if he could hear
