Teddy continued playing Lips of an Angel, but decided to not sing the words anymore. Not until he was alone again, and he could go as loud as he felt like. It was always better to play without inhibition. As loud, violent, sad, or even depressing you wanted. It depended on his mood, but Teddy had played at one time or another, every one of those.
He smirked a little, and shrugged too. He kept his face down to watch how he was playing, but he responded in the same way as ever. "I wasn't beating myself up. I just didn't want you to think that I was a labeller." he replied, glancing up every once in a while to prove that he was still interested in the conversation.
Teddy pulled one of his hands up and ran a hand through his hair, trying to remember the first part of a song he'd so recently learned. He had trouble remembering the beginning, and he didn't know the entire thing yet. But hey, it'd work eventually. "Yeah, well, I didn't know if you had your cell or not." he replied, acting slightly defensive. He really wasn't though. "And I do have one, I just forgot it at home." he added, and shrugged. "403 - 553 - 8921." he added, almost forgetting to.
He was a little shocked with her next statement. It was nice, he did like the offer. But it kind of came out of the blue. He hid the fact that he was shocked by it though, and replied with, "I'll remember that. Thanks." For the moment, he stopped playing his guitar. He had remembered the part of the song he'd forgotten, but he didn't much feel like playing at this moment.
Teddy listened to what she had to say about the Met. He'd been hoping she'd say something about the artwork inside, or if it was any good to go when it did open up again. Of course, she didn't. It didn't much matter to him though. "An art tour? I've never actually heard of one of those." he said casually. He hadn't even known they existed, but as he thought about it, it made sense. "Getting off campus is always a good thing. That's why I'm here today, actually."
Her next question was easy enough, but he took a little time to think about it. "I dunno. You already know the basics; guitar, music, and partying. But I guess I go to these kinds of places a lot." he said, and gestured towards their surroundings. He loved nature, which was a little surprising. "Camping, nature walks, just sitting in parks..that kind of thing." he added, a little absentmindedly. "I'm really not creative with questions, so I think I'll steal yours again. What do you do for fun?"

Teddy seemed a little more interested in his playing for a moment, but he was trying to stay in their conversation. And Lexi smiles at his response, he was a little hard on himself. Holding her hand to her mouth, and gasping, her dark eyes get wider, as she pretends to be shocked. "Oh, my god, Teddy is a labeller! What are we going to do with you?" She laughs when she says it, and grins a little, she was enjoying teasing him. Even if he was a little defensive about leaving his cell phone behind.
Entering his number in her phone, she saw a flicker of something in him when she offered him a place to stay. She smiled a little to herself, she didn't mind offering, and she nods at Teddy's offer of thanks. "It's nothing. Like I said, my roommate isn't around, she won't mind." She watched him stop playing, and she wondered if he was getting tired of playing that one song he seemed to play so much.
Teddy's claim of never hearing about an art tour surprised Lexi, she thought they were very common. Frowning slightly, she looks at him, wondering if he had ever been to one. "Well, yeah, they have them all the time. There is so much artwork they can't show it all at one time. So they send the best pieces on a tour across the country sometimes. Don't tell me you've never been to one? It can be really cool, if you like art. If you want, I'll find a good one, and we'll both go. Unless you want to wait for the Met to reopen, it could take a while."
As Teddy talks about getting off campus, what he does for fun, and enjoying nature, Lexi's eyes get a little wide. "Shut up! That sounds so much like me! Listening to live music, partying, just getting outside, away from it all for a little while. I like taking rides up the Hudson valley on my bike, I'm on the ladies soccer team at the school, and I like hanging out with my friends. You go camping around here, or just back home? Hmm, where is home for you, by the way?" She was very excited, anyone could tell. She takes a deep breath, and rolls her eyes a little. "Didn't mean to hit you with so many questions at one time, Teddy. Sorry."

Teddy couldn't help but let out a soft laugh. "You know what I mean!" he exclaimed, his lips curving upwards in a small smile. He'd averted his eyes from the guitar to Lexi, as he spoke and smiled. "I hate labellers, and I had my fair share of getting labelled. So I don't want to come off as one." he added, and shrugged a little. It was speaking the truth, but not letting too much out at the same time.
He tapped his fingers against the empty part of the guitar, a hollow sound echoing inside. In a way, it kind of made Teddy think about playing the drums. Even if tapping your fingers on a guitar is almost the most opposite thing you can get. "Mm. Well, thanks." he said, and smiled again. It felt good to get offered a place to sleep, even though he probably would never have to take advantage of the offer. "If you ever need a place to sleep, I'm sure Evelyn and I could accomodate you." he added, meaning it. He wasn't completely saying it just because she'd offered her place to him.
As she started talking about art, he could tell she was getting a little excited about it. It was obvious that she was passionate about art. Then again, she was questioning whether to stay with the art major or change to something else. Well, either way, she'd started with an art major. She was probably passionate about it either way. "Yeah, if you find a good one between now and when the Met re-opens, give me a call. If you don't, then I can just check out the Met." he stated, and shrugged a little.
Teddy's eyes widened slightly, as she pummeled him with words. The second he mentioned he liked being outside, she seemed to get incredibly excited. It was a little funny, but he bit back a chuckle. "I dunno. Camping anywhere really. I went with my family a lot, but we went a lot of different places. We rarely stayed around home when we went." he said, answering the first question. "Home is Regina, Saskatchewan. Quite a ways from here, but it's good to get away from a place you'd been all your life, right?" He was good at saying truthful things, but not telling everything there was to say about the topic. "Oh it's fine. Questions are fun." he added, this time adding in a small chuckle.

Chuckling at Teddy's reaction, Lexi could see that he was going to be a fun person to tease a little. It did get him to smile, and he did have a nice one, she was going to have to see if she could get him to smile more. Smiling back at him, her brown eyes twinkling, she bites her lip as she listens to him explain himself. "I do know what you mean, Teddy, and I agree with you. I hate being labeled, and I try not to label people either. Everyone is unique, you have to get to know them a little though, to see it." She shrugged back at him, it was her opinion, and she didn't want to sound preachy. She hoped he didn't take it that way.
Surprised a little by his offer for a place to stay, she hadn't really expected that from him. Tilting her head to the side a little, smiling in return, Lexi can't help but feel touched by his gesture. "Well, thanks to you, too. I'll keep that in mind, if my roomie ever comes back, and throws a fit over her stuff. I put it in a box, and it's in the corner of the closet. I guess I'm taking over the room now!" Rolling her eyes, she chuckles at herself, she was taking over the room. But no one seemed to mind at all, and until they did, she would continue to use it all for her.
Teddy sounded a little interested in seeing an art show, but not enthusiastic about it. Maybe that was just the way he was, and Lexi just didn't know him well enough yet. He did sound a little interested, and maybe, that was enough. Smiling back at him, she shrugged too. "I'll find something good, we can check it out. And I can get an idea of what you like in artwork. Not everybody likes everything, but you usually can find something that really does something for you." That was part of the fun, finding something that you really liked at one of the museums.
Was Teddy laughing a little, trying to hold it in? A sly smirk, and amusement behind her dark eyes, showed that Lexi was enjoying this part of their conversation. "Wow, sounds like a lot of fun, going to different places like that. It was the same for me, there were so many places within an hour of home, we had a lot of choices. And you're from Saskatchewan? Wow, I've never been there. Sounds like a good place to be from, though. And yeah, it is good to get away, but sometimes there is so much that I miss." She was sharing a lot more with him, but she didn't mind. Nodding slightly at his reply, she couldn't agree with him more. "Yeah, they can be fun, as long as they don't get too personal. What other outdoor things do you like to do? Biking, hiking, rock climbing? Bird watching? I bet you are a bird watcher, aren't you, Teddy?" Chuckling back at him, she was having fun, just laying there, propped on her elbows. She felt very relaxed, and very comfortable, having a conversation like this with him.

His fingers went a little faster at that moment, for a faster beat of the song he was playing. In fact, this time it was a song he'd written. Teddy liked playing songs by other people, since lots of people had good music out there. But playing his own stuff added some originality and creativity into it. It excited him, in an almost odd way.
"Ah, so the making fun of me part, was just for no reason at all?" he questioned teasingly, glancing up to the girl in front of him. He didn't really mind getting teased in a friendly way, and he could tell she wasn't being mean about it. Usually he found it hard to read people, and what they were thinking. But the way Lexi said it, and her facial expressions just gave him a vibe that she was completely joking.
"Mm, yes. That might cause a little trouble. I know I'd be angry if I came back to see that Bubbles had packed up all my stuff." he commented, not even bothering to correct himself this time. It was just a habit now. He hardly ever called her Evelyn, unless he was mad at her or around people he didn't really know. For some reason he felt like he was getting to know Lexi a whole lot better and easier than he had with other people in the past.
Teddy let his fingers strum again, since he'd realized he'd stopped as he talked. Multi-tasking wasn't always his strong suit, unless he was in the right frame of mind. And obviously, today he wasn't in that frame of mind. "Yeah, sounds great. I'd like to expand my horizons." he said in a slight sarcastic way, about the 'expanding his horizons' part. Accept he was being serious about wanting to see the art.
"Oh yeah, Saskatchewan. From one of the bigger towns in it though, so I had my fair share of the 'social scene'." he stated, making air quotations around social scene. It was true though. He'd gotten himself into the drugs and the alcohol. A few people he'd met had immediately assumed, since he was from Regina, that he hadn't actually experienced much. Well, he'd had his fair share of it and wished he hadn't. "Oh, I did a lot of it. Pretty much just whatever my family wanted to do, which included a lot of hiking, and, yes...bird watching. Of course the usual stuff, like the beach and the lake and such as well." he added, and shrugged. "What kind of outdoor things do you like?"

A slight smile plays across her lips, as Lexi listened to Teddy play his guitar, and watched his reactions with her brown eyes. He was teasing her back, in his own way, and it was what she enjoyed the most. Someone who could banter with her as much as she could, it made things so much more fun. "Oh, I have my reasons, Teddy, for making fun of you. Doesn't mean I can't be sympathetic to how you feel, does it?" She hoped she had read him right, and she wasn't going to make him angry by it all.
Frowning playfully, Lexi shakes her head, looking intently at him. It was so funny to hear him refer to Evelyn as 'Bubbles', she didn't want to make him feel embarrassed by laughing. "Well, she should thank me, it was collecting a lot of dust. I was sneezing from it all, while I put it away. And it'll keep people from messing with it. Some of it is pretty nice stuff." She secretly still hoped that her roommate didn't show up, it was nice having a large room to herself.
Picking up on Teddy's sarcasm, Lexi laughed a little, it always seemed funny to her. Giving him a look of non-chalance, and shrugging her shoulders, she smiled slightly. "It never hurts to try something different at least once in your life, does it? You would be amazed at some of the paintings, they almost have a picture quality to them. We'll try it, if you don't like it, then we can do something else." Maybe she was overreacting to his sarcasm, but she didn't want to force him to do anything that he didn't want to do.
As she watched Teddy, laying on the ground next to him, she shifted positions so that she was a little more on her side. This part of their conversation was very interesting for her, talking about being outside, and being with family. "Well, that's good, being from a larger town helps a little. And cool, you had a lake to go swimming in? That's always a good thing!" Pausing to think about what she liked to do outside, there were so many things, she wasn't going to be able to describe them all. "Well, pretty much the same things. Hiking in the mountains, except my mountains are probably a lot smaller than yours. Going to the beach, swimming at the lake, backpacking, camping out, mountain biking, rappelling, all kinds of things. It's part of growing up with two older brothers, I guess, they were always into something different, and I had to be part of it." It did sound like that they had some similar interests, and that seemed to help strengthen their connection they were having. It seemed like a good thing that she ran into him today, and was having this conversation with him.
((hey, sorry, my post kinda sucked. do you want to wrap this one up? I'm good either way))

Teddy gave a small shrug, and a nod. "Well, teasing can be fun..." he commented. It could be, if it didn't escalate in any way. If it did escalate, it could get ugly between Teddy and the other person. That's just how Teddy was, and he wasn't about to change. Not in the near future, anyways. "But yeah, I get it." he added.
Suddenly, realization hit him like a tidal wave. "Oh no! I forgot, I have to go." he said quickly, before pulling the guitar off his lap and setting it gently in the case. "I'm sorry. But I forgot about something..." he added, before closing the case and standing up. "Give me a call sometime. Maybe we can hang out again."
Oh wow, was he late. He'd promised Evelyn that they could hang out, and he was already late. Hopefully she hadn't forgotten either, or else that'd be quite a big issue that he just left Lexi to get stood up. "Again, sorry! Bye for now." he said, before turning and half-running back to his apartment.
ooc; Suck-ish? Oh yeah.
