Location :: Barnes & Nobles Pulling back the wooden handle to the glass entrance of Barnes & Noble, Anna Sophia stepped into a warm, quiet environment. Outside was chilly and loud, full of drivers honking and people yelling to be heard over the Huntley city crowd. The contrast of the seemingly silent bookstore made even Anna's breath sound too loud. She pressed her lips together as she made her way past the cash registers near the front and wove through shelves of books until finally reaching the music section. It was a little louder back here, but not by much. Friends murmured to each other, pointing at CDs. Some people were even wearing little headphones and sampling different albums before deciding if they would buy it or not. It was a neat environment and Anna loved it. She often found herself in a Barnes & Noble or Borders on the weekends, going through stacks of CDs in attempt to find something she might like enough to put on her iPod. It had become her second home, apart from her dormitory.
Anna's brow furrowed curiously as she stepped across an aisle and glanced to her left. The back of the man standing hovered over a listening area was quaintly familiar. With a grin, Anna turned and took off in the opposite direction to avoid being seen. Coming up behind him, she walked quietly until she was just an inch from his ear. "Boo!" she whispered with a small giggle.

Let’s count the lovely things that happen on a nice icy day, shall we? You can slip on a small frozen puddle, and nearly fall to a certain death. You can also have your ears blasted off by the polite trunk driver, who used his horn and grill to tell you to move from the road, also almost coming to bereavement. You can be running to catch a bus, and just make it, and you find your bus ticket has floated away on the winds. Lucky Levi, all these things just happened to occur to him that lovely morning. Huffing as he entered the Barnes and Nobles, a not so pleasant look plastered to his features, Levi lingered around the front, scanning the many books that lay on shelves and tables. His fingers touched the cover of a book softly, before walking on, towards the listening sections.
Frowning as he stared down at a row of listening CDs, looking as though he was in deep thought. Why was choosing a CD to listen so hard? Not even the confused Levi knew. He reached out, grabbing a case, flipping it over, and browsing at the multiple titles that littered the back. The plastic covering was making his hands sweat, and feel sticky, but he ignored the gross feeling, and replaced the CD back onto the proper place. To say the least, he was slightly shocked when a voice came from nowhere, and whispered something in his ear. Sounded like ‘boo’ but he could have been wrong. Twisting his head around, he faced Anna. He smiled, laughing softly. “I could kill you.” He said to her, wagging a finger at her. “Boo to you too.” He answered curtly, smiling dimly. He was a spaz, he was. He could blather on about nothing until the nows came home, but he stopped himself from chatting her brain off in on breath.

"You could not," she retorted with a mock glare at her friend. The young blonde was holding back a laugh when he wagged his finger in her face. "You love me too much," she concluded with a grin, just barely sticking her tongue out at him. Anna adored Levi - they always got along quite well and she loved spending time with him. They were both passionate about music and books, so naturally they fell in step side-by-side on more than one occasion. Their friendship had just sort of clicked, and they had been close ever since.
His smile, she noticed, was dimmer than usual. Levi might not have been the bounciest and energetic person, but his smile was usually stronger than the one currently plastered on his face. Fixing him with a sideways glance and mild frown, Anna asked, "What's wrong? I'm not interrupting or anything, am I?" She didn't think she was the reason he looked a little distressed, but it was always safer to ask than find out later.

“You challenging me or something?” he solicited, narrowing his eyes at her suspiciously, cocking an eyebrow. A small smile cracked through. “Alright, you caught me there. You’re lucky I don’t have something to poke you with.” He told her, before turning his head to face the rows of CDs for a moment. Biting his tongue, he plucked a few from the shelf, before looking through all of them, he turned back to face Anna. He held up a CD, showing her. “What do you think about this one?” he asked, tilting his head to read the song titles. The CD was that high-pitched Mika man. The one who can be colors? He always wanted an opinion from Anna, seeing as they both loved music with a passion. But sometimes, if they couldn’t agree, it was like going to hell and back in a hand basket. But that was rare.
A small 'hmm?' escaped his lips, his eyebrows rising as she asked if anything was wrong, or if she did anything. He gasped, shocked with her. “No! I’m better now that you’re here. I just didn’t have such a fun trip over here is all.” He exclaimed, smiling a little wider than before. “Don’t be such a worry wart” he told her, shuffling through more CDs, still holing the one out for her.

"Maybe," she countered with equally narrow eyes, though a smile crept into the corners of her smirk. She gave him a genuine grin before nodding in a teasing sense of appreciation. "I consider myself blessed." Jesting with the fellow student came naturally, it seemed. Of course, their entire friendship wasn't made up of humour. They actually had some serious conversations, several centered around music and literature. It was nice, but so was the playful banter they occasionally tossed around.
Her eyes surveyed the title and album art when Levi held a CD up for her to examine. Pink lips instantly thinned and she shook her head, a not-so pleasant expression on her face. "Too weird," she said, arching her eyebrows at the strange pictures painted on the front cover.
"How about that one?" she asked, nodding down at another CD he had in his hand. She couldn't make out the artist, but the cover had a classy black and white decoration that didn't seem to extravagant or.... odd. Although some bands could get away with crazy designs, most of the really weird ones weren't even worth listening to. At least, that is how Anna always pictured it.
He was still offering her the odd CD she had declined an interest in, but her slender fingers reached out to take it anyway. Pale blue eyes watched the cover warily, almost like it was going to jump out and pull her into it's swirling, almost frightening, world of colour. "This one gives me a headache just looking at it," she said with a frown, handing it back to Levi. "And I'm not worrying, I just thought I'd ask," she said with a smile.
