Anna stepped nervously into the grand entrance of Deep. It was truly extravagant with long corridors and a dark, almost broody atmosphere. It was far from angst; rather, it felt more channeled towards the wealthy young adult crowd. The walls were a dark shade of red, almost crimson, with a delicate and exquisite decoration running across the border. The ceiling was nothing short of spectacular, decorated to the nines with youthful energy and abstract imagery. The staircase leading upstairs was something Anna only saw in mansions, making her nibble her lower lip to keep from dropping her jaw.
She was adorned in a beautiful blue dress with a silver hue, making her eyes stand out in stunning contrast to her blonde hair. The lighting seemed to cast everyone in an ethereal glow. The women were all adorned in jewelry and attire Anna knew she could never afford. It was glamorous, exquisite, stunning. The men were in casual business attire, and most looked as though they had stepped out of a fashion magazine. Anna felt immediately underdressed in her knee-length dress and black heeled sandals. She blended in more than she realized, but just knowing her dress was only a fraction the price of the rest of the female crowd was enough to make her throat constrict.
Being an actress seemed to work in Anna's favor in these situations. She felt butterflies tickling the inside of her stomach, but her face was calm and serene. She could fit in if she put her mind to it. With that thought in mind, the petite blonde lifted her chin and walked through the first entrance and into a grand room.
Her heart picked up speed when the sound of music reached her small ears. She recognized the tune, and a small smile of appreciation grew on her lips. A huge crowd mingled on the floor - most of them dancing while some were simply standing and chatting with friends, martinis in hand. Nibbling her lip, Anna sidestepped the edge of the dancing throng and walked towards the bar on the back wall.
She pushed herself up on her toes in order to carefully pull herself up and onto one of the dark, classy stools. At that moment she was endlessly thankful for the nimble grace she had perfected through her years on stage. The last thing she wanted was to stick out like a sore thumb. Anna knew she was treading thin ground, especially being here alone. However, none of her friends were free and she couldn't stand one more evening by herself on campus.
Ordering a glass of water, Anna turned sideways in her chair and watched the dance floor with eager, almost desirous eyes.

"Hey ladies." Julian said and shot them a smile as they smiled back and gave a small wave. Julian seemed to be a hit here at Deep. He came here often and now and chatted amongst the usual crowd of people. Sure he didn't have as much money as them but he made them think he did with his attire and the way he talked and dressed. Sure they'd look down upon him if they even found at that he was a drop out but what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them would it? He walked past his usual group of friends and over to the bar in the back. He noticed a young lady sitting over there alone and he was fighting himself whether it'd be right him to go and talk to her or not. He ordered a martini and then pulled down on his suit and made sure he was looking good and then walked over to her and stood by her side to look in the direction she'd be gazing at. She looked so innocent he couldn't help but get excited inside of him. "Whats a pretty girl like you doing here at Deep all alone?" he said as he put on his best smile and looked over at her. Her took a sip of his martini before glancing around the place. His eyes soon connected with hers as he smiled at her. She was so small looking he was getting over excited. He pulled down on his all black suit and let out a soft yawn as he waited for her reply. Oh dear little Julian just didn't know what he was getting himself in to this time. "..I mean you've got such beauty I'd expect you to be out there on the dance floor with some boy." he said and smiled as he leaned against the counter of the bar as he looked down at her.

Anna did not notice the man standing beside her chair until she heard his voice, not too far from her ear. Raising her eyebrows and turning her head, she was greeted by a handsome face and sweet smile. He held a martini in his hand, which appeared to be the drink of the night, and leaned against the counter, watching her with dark attractive eyes.
His words made her blush, but the dim lighting surrounding the bar made it difficult to see. She smiled and turned her attention back to the dancefloor as she wondered how to respond to such flattery. Although far from being called an expert on the flirtatious and desirous nature of men, Anna was beginning to get a feel for a man's behavior when he was interested in a woman. Though she had sidestepped most personal experience, Anna had been charmed once, only to be dragged away by one of her friends. Their intentions had been good, but Anna had begun to find the little flirting game amusing.
"Enjoying the music," she responded, tilting her head sideways at him and offering a modest smile. Anna was keeping her good posture and clinging to the convinction she was, in fact, in the same league as the other women that frequented the fancy club. He adjusted his black suit, making her eyes flicker once more to his attire before returning her gaze to his own dark eyes.
There came the flattery. Although she found the game more entertaining than genuine, Anna couldn't help but pleasure herself in the compliment. The stranger was suave, genteel - the poster boy for a leading role in some theatrical romance. It was charming, and despite her best wisdom, Anna found herself offering him a similar smile.
"I'm not much of a dancer," she confessed after taking a small sip of her water. It was not the entire truth, but it would suffice. When you grow up in theatre, you learn to dance and sing; even though the two might not be your strong suit, you learned it anyway. It was part of the package.

"Oh c'mon you must be a dancer. Everyones a dancer." he said and laughed as he took another sip of his martini. "..everyone can dance just like everyone can breathe." he said and smiled at her as he leaned against the counter. He glanced around at the crowds of people that he knew. They seemed to think highly of this suave Julian they knew but if only they knew the real Julian. Julian was nothing but a faker. He puts on a little show that he's rich and that he's smart but in reality he's lacking in both parts. He can barely pay the rent at his small apartment and he's struggling to do so. He is always dressing nicely with those nice suits if only he could really afford to buy them all. "C'mon dance with me pretty lady." he said and smiled as he grabbed ahold of her small hand and gently pulled her off of the dance floor. A slow song came in and he grinned. "May I have the pleasure of having this dance ma'am?" he asked her as he bowed in front of her and held out his hand to her with a devious smile on his face that could make anyone want to go with him. The boy was quite the charmer.

She rolled her eyes, a smile on her face when he debated the subject. "Breathing comes naturally and dancing doesn't," she noted with a raised brow in his direction. He leaned against the table and Anna found herself biting her lower lip. She was not blushing, but she was well-aware of his eyes.
Anna did not get much time to react when he wanted her to dance with him. Before she really knew what was happening, his hand was around hers and he was leading her out in the middle of the chaos - the dancers. Colours were swirling and spinning around them, and for a split second Anna felt hesitation grab her. She couldn't fast dance. How on earth could she even begin to pull off a trick like that?
Luckily, the song was ending just as the stranger came to a halt. She was just starting to think she was getting out of such a proposition when music once more began to float through the air. This time, however, it was a slower song, not nearly as rambunctious or throbbing. Her heart began to beat so quickly she was almost certain the entire club could hear it.
Thank God for acting. He bowed and offered her his hand. Anna glanced around, almost nervously before swallowing her hesitation and giving him the tiniest of curtsies. The butterflies in her stomach made her breath in deeply, holding her abdomen and then breathing out slowly when she took a step forward. Placing her hand in his, she watched him beneath dark lashes. Despite her nerves, she couldn't help but let a smile play on her lips at his expression. He was handsome, that was true. Very true.
"I might step on your toes," she warned, her back still stiff from the nerves crawling through her. She wanted to relax, but when she was painfully aware of their close proximity, it was very hard to let your muscles loosen.

"I've got plenty of them to step on." he said with a smile as he took her hand as he led her on to the dace floor. He found both of his hands at her waist as he smiled down at her. "So, mystery women what is your name?" he asked her curiously as he looked at her through his dark brown eyes. He couldn't help but love messing with this girl she seemed so - innocent. He couldn't help but want to break that innocence but he figured she wouldn't be as willing as he might like. "..I mean I have to know the name of this pretty girl who has so kindly let me dance with her." he said happily as he slowly moved a bit as they began to dance.
"I myself am Julian." he said and smiled down at her. "And it's very nice to meet you miss unknown." he said with a small laugh as they moved back and forth to the soothing tones of the music. "Oh and to let you in on a little secret I'm not the best dancer in the world either." he whispered as he smiled at her as they continued to dance. He moved his head a bit so he could get a better look at her. He found himself staring at her blue eyes that were simply amazing. He was already losing himself in them ooc| I've lost all my creativity.

The fluttering in Anna's chest picked up tempo when he kept his eyes on her. She found herself flickering her own gaze across the room, whether it be to the bar or the other couples on the dancefloor. Her nerves kept forcing her to deter her attention, finding another focus long enough to steady her head and keep from slipping out of her elegant posture. Each time, however, her pale eyes traveled back to his own and then repeated the cycle all over again.
It wasn't as though Anna had never danced before; she had. The difference, though, lies in theatre and reality. Dancing with a stage actor and dancing with a stranger might as well rest in completely different planes. The latter was not rehearsed and did not end in bubbling laughter and playful jest. At least, Anna didn't imagine it would.
"Anna," she said in response. Her voice was soft, and if it weren't for the quiet music she might not have been heard. Clearing her throat a bit, she added, "Anna Sophia, actually." She bit her lower lip, offering him a friendly, though restricted, smile. She needed to relax, and she was well aware of it, too. If any of her friends were here, they would tell her to just breath and let the conversation flow normally. Anna was a naturally social young woman, always chattering away. She feared falling into her usual mode, though, around male strangers. She was shy, in a sense.
She giggled a bit at his words, dropping her chin and letting her gaze fall to his feet before returning them to meet his dark blue eyes. His hands remained on her hips, swaying her back and forth to the soft music. It was borderline addictive, she realized after awhile. "I'd beg to differ," she said, tilting her chin up and looking at him. She found herself blushing, though, and turned her head the opposite way.
Just as she did, another dancer, apparently drunk, lost his balance and knocked into her. For a split second she found herself pressed up against Julian, even closer than before, and her cheeks flushed an even pinker shade. Tossing the stranger a startled and almost bewildered glance, Anna instantly dropped her eyes to the floor. She lost the rhythm for a brief moment before getting back on track once more. She didn't dare look up after that, her embarassment still painted on her small face.

He smiled as he watched the girl become very nervous. He thought it was rather cute. "Anna Sophia is quite a cute name." she said and smiled at him. "It matches your appearance." he said as he smiled down at her. His feet continued to move to the beat of the music. He watched as her eyes began to dart around the room anywhere but to his dark blue eyes. He knew she was nervous and he found it rather attractive.
"So, you come here often?" he asked her knowing very well she didn't but he thought it would make conversation. "..I have to say I haven't seen you around this place which is quite a shame." he said and gave her a smile as he heard the music come to an end. He slowly pulled away from her but still smiled. "It was lovely dancing with you." he whispered with a smile as he took her hand and lead her back towards the bar. He pulled out a chair for her by one of the tables nearby. Once she was seated he walked towards the other side to sit down. "You look beautiful." he said and smiled over at her as he motioned for the waiter to come over to take their order. "Is there anything you'd like Anna?" he asked her sweetly as he gave her a charming smile.
He looked up at the waitress and gave her a polite smile. "I'll take a martini and my fair lady will take..." he said as he glanced over at her and waited for her to tell him what she would like to drink. "..I'm buying." he added in with another smile.

Poor Anna. She did not realize she was holding her breath until he commented on her name. Desperately resisting the urge to merely blow out the air she held in her lungs, she cleared her throat and slowly exhaled. She felt the blush returning in her cheeks - or perhaps it never left. Either way, it was there and she only offered the man a smile and polite 'Thank you' in return.
Conversation! That was something she was good at. Yes, she could return queries like that without a problem. Even as she began to speak, Anna felt her shoulders relaxing and her feet carrying on without as much aid as she had been giving them. "This is my first time, actually," she said just as the music was coming to an end. Julian pulled away and Anna felt her regain a hint more confidence.
She was being charmed, and the expressions and blushes that seemed to remain on her face made it quite clear. She prayed fervently that her nerves would not run to her hand when he took it once more. The last thing she needed was for her hand to sweat because the butterflies in her stomach would no go away. She was a tad more comfortable than she had been before; however, she was nowhere near being completely relaxed and at ease.
"Thank you," she said softly in return, meeting his eyes until he motioned for a waiter. She had not even considered bringing in a fake ID to buy drinks. Then again, Anna didn't really want to have anything when none of her friends were around. There was no telling what might happen when the liquor got into her system. Her heart practically stopped beating when he ordered a martini. Anna knew practically everyone here was over twenty-one and the majority of the crowd seemed to be drinking alcohol. Even so, when he asked what she wanted, she smiled at the waitor and said, "I'd just like a water."
"Have I earned the right to reciprocate your first question?" She paused, feeling the need to build up her points again after ordering a water. "What are you doing here alone?" The question came across more flirtatious than Anna had originally intended, but it would suit. It was almost fun, now that she thought about it. He seemed to be attempting to sweep her off her feet, and she wondered if she might be able to do the same. The least she could do was try. Her cheeks might still have a hint of colour but it was finally beginning to fade.
