Oralee flicked her curly brown hair over her shoulder as she walked toward Starbucks. She felt like her favourite Caffè Latte today before her classes started. It was a beautiful, warm and sunny, the birds singing in the trees. It was the perfect atmosphere, and just the kind of day that this girl loved. She was dressed in her usual attire, her favourite dark blue skinny jeans with a vintage butterfly belt. As it was warm today, she didn't wear a jacket, just a loose blue-grey shirt that reached the top of her thighs. On her feet she wore her best black heels to add some height to her short frame.
Reaching Starbucks, Oralee pulled the door open and walked casually inside. It was quite empty, thank goodness, as it was still early on in the day. She wasn't quite a social butterfly. She always tried to seem cool and calm, but inside she was a dithering wreck. People made her nervous, ever since the bullies. Yes, it was stupid to dwell on an incident so far in the past, on a different continent even. But it was hard to forget.
Oralee ordered her Caffè Latte and proceeded to grab a window seat so that she could enjoy the beautiful day even from inside. She slid quietly into her chair and took a sip of the hot drink, quickly regretting it. I'll let that cool down a little first she thought to herself, sliding it slightly further away across the table. She then lost herself in the view, her eyes glazing over. Right now, she could sit through an earthquake, it was almost as if she was no longer on earth, but instead up in space somewhere far far away...
