As a general rule, Starbucks managed to mess up his coffee just about every time he took the time to come out here and treat himself to a cup of the three-dollar stuff. He didn't entirely mind -- he actually liked it better, usually, the way they did it. And besides, he was too kind to go back and request that they fix it, so he usually just took it for what it was and tried to appear satisfied.
It was rather cold out for springtime, but Rohan hadn't bothered with a jacket or anything of the sort. Instead, he'd just worn his usual pair of old, faded jeans with holes in both knees, frayed at the bottom from wear, and his black-and-white checkered, paint-spattered Vans on his feet. His shirt was long-sleeved, collared, black with subtle white pinstripes. His hair was, as usual, casual and fairly stylistically adequate in his scruffiness, his eyes fairly tired-looking -- he had, of course, pulled an all-nighter just to perfect a piece he had been working on.
Once he had received his coffee [sure enough, upon taking the first sip, he realised that milk had been added to it], Rohan thanked the employee quietly, with a hesitant half-smile and a slight nod of his head in recognition, not bothering to let on what he had done wrong. Rohan turned, walking toward the back of the cafe, searching for a place to perhaps avoid being noticed by any acquaintences -- not that the man was unfriendly by any means -- no, Rohan had an aptitude for being kind and warm toward anyone he encountered, however, upon realisation that no such friends were presently in the coffee house, he allowed himself the privilege of solitude; if only to allow himself the opportunity to finish the charcoal sketch he was busy with in the notebook held beneath his arm, the half-finished work looking, of course, perfect -- it was the image of an elderly local man he had once known in Sri Lanka -- he intended to preserve every memory of the place on paper, whereas he could not replicate his childhood in living circumstances.[/ul]
