Jamie made her way down the street, feeling especially sexy tonight. She had left her apartment tonight adorned in a black tube-top dress, tied in the middle with a bow to the side and puffing out at the bottom to just above her knee. The crinoline was itchy, but it was the price you paid for looking good. Fishnets clung to her legs, revealing the pale complexion of her legs, and her feet clicked down the road hidden by a pair of pointed black stilettos. A lot of people were surprised when she told them that she shopped at the thrift store- she was quite stylish for a poor kid. Her hair was thrown up in a messy pony tail, large chunks of it falling to frame her thin face. The paleness of her complexion only made her red pouty lips look even poutier and her bright blue eyes even brighter. Yes, tonight she was in a very good mood.
She looked up at the sign on the top of the bar she was about to walk into. Coyote Ugly. She had heard a lot about this place- apparently they even made a movie about it. She shrugged her shoulders and figured she’d give it a go anyway. Making her way through, she smiled up at the huge bouncer and gave him a little curtsy, getting in without having to put her fake ID to work. Her legs gave her pretty much everything she ever wanted. She made her way through the crowd with ease- she was used to crowded places even though they weren’t her most favorite of places- and towards the bar, ordering herself a bottle of beer. Taking it from a cutesy little girl behind the bar, she made her way over to a more quiet section of the bar where a few guys were bumming around playing poker. She sat just behind them at a table by herself, sipping away and just waiting for an opportune moment to get up and dance.
Just when it did, a figure stood in front of her- the figure of a much larger, much older man. “Hey toots.” He practically bellowed. He was drunk as fuck and he was rank to boot. All she could smell on him was vodka. She sat back in her seat and crossed one knee over the other, making it quite obvious that she was far from interested. “You wanna dance?” He asked, practically falling over her he was so drunk. It took a lot for Jamie to feel uncomfortable, and as much as she didn’t want to admit it this dude was a little bit terrifying. “Not with you.” She grinned sweetly, taking a sip from her bottle and setting it down on the table. The guy looked confused but he didn’t go away. “Huh? What’s your problem?” He asked, getting a little bit closer, Jamie cringed, but she didn’t have anywhere else to go. Oooh Shit.

Tonight was his second night out. He wasn't actually out yet, but he was going out. Joshua was headed to Coyote Ugly, for another night of dancing and drinking. Why not? It was fun, right? The first time he'd been here he'd bumped into Alexia. Even if it was just one of his friends, it had still been a fun night. The morning after wasn't all that fun, with the hangover of a lifetime. Here he was, walking down a New York street; ready to do it all over again. He'd parked his car far enough away, so that if he was drunk he would have no energy to walk all the way to his car. Drinking and driving wasn't on his list of things to do tonight. Passing the bouncer easily, without having to show an ID, he was now inside. The party was already hopping, and the girls were just climbing on the bar to dance. Most guys would be swarming towards it about now, to watch them. Joshua had never really liked girls who put themselves out there like that. Put on the skimpy, tight outfits and shook their asses for the drooling men. No, if anything that just turned Joshua off. He pushed past a large group of females, of which were hanging back; further away from the bar. Self-explanatory of why. He worked his way up to the bar, and to order himself a drink. There always seemed to be one bartender who stayed off the bar to serve drinks. Something the girls probably planned, and it made a whole lot of sense to him. "Vodka cooler, if you please. Tropikiwi." The drink was a bright green color, and it filled a bottle pretty much to the top. The one drink Joshua liked other than beer was vodka coolers. "Thank you, sweetheart." he said, after paying for it, and walking off. He took a small sip to start himself off, as he walked into a quieter part of the bar. He really didn't watch those girls on the bar. Joshua couldn't call them sluts since he didn't know them. But when they did that, they sure looked like sluts. He took a quick look around, before focussing on a particular couple. The term 'couple' being rather loose. They didn't look like they'd come together. If they did, they were playing a good role that they didn't. Slowly and casually, Joshua walked past. He just wanted to hear what they were saying. He didn't want to get himself in the middle, if they knew each other. "Not with you." "Huh? What's your problem?" No, they sure didn't sound like they had come together. Or knew each other. Joshua turned on his heel and walked back, putting one hand on the guy's shoulder. He pulled back rather hard, so that he was standing out of the way. "There you are! I've been looking for you. I thought we planned this, why are you hiding from me?" he exclaimed, looking at Jamie and acting as if the rather drunk guy wasn't there. "Come on, let's go have some fun. Now that I've finally found you!" he added, and gestured towards the dance floor. Honestly, he was just being a gentleman. Helping a young lady out. Whether he was actually going to dance with her or not, didn't matter. Joshua took another sip of his drink, before slipping in a wink in Jamie's direction. "Hurry up, this is a good song." Hopefully she'd catch on and know what he was doing.

To be quite honest, she couldn’t even really tell what this guy was saying anymore- it was a slur of words and all she could make out was a ‘stupid slut’ here and there as his large body only got closer and closer to her. She was actually getting ready to pull a hit and run to get out of there, but just then an angel fell out of heaven and saved her life. Well, maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration, but she had never been so happy to see a complete stranger in her life, and she was more than aware of the game he was playing.
“My god! What took you so long?!” She exclaimed believably as the young blonde boy pushed his way past the larger man who looked like he was going to throw up all over her in a moment. She jumped up and kissed his cheek, wrapping her arm around his waist as they moved away from the table. His comment about the song was damn right too- there was nothing better than a little Paradise City on a Friday night.
She turned to the big guy who was no oogling at the two of them as they walked away. “My date’s here, sorry dear.” She said, grabbing her beer on her way and walking with him away. When they were far enough away, she looked over their shoulders again and breathed a sigh of relief, letting go of him. “Thank you very much.” She laughed, looking up at him. She hadn’t noticed who it had been before- for all she had known it could have been Trevor. She was just glad to be out of there. This was the second boy who had saved her from near disaster in New York, she had a record going now.
She tilted her head slightly and studied at him- a lot of the guys around here were incredibly clean-cut and well put together. It was certainly a change. He wasn’t messy, he didn’t have any visible tattoos and his hair was combed- nothing she was used to hanging out with at home. But she owed it to him, he had saved her from the miserable red giant. “I don’t know who on earth you are, but do you want to dance anyway?” She asked openly. Jamie had always loved dancing, no matter who with.

Joshua had naturally put an arm over the girl's shoulders, giving a nod to the rather drunken guy. He knew the guy wouldn't be remembering any of this in the morning. Which could be a good thing, if he ever decided to go after him for snaking a girl out from under him. But Joshua had not a care in the world, as he walked away with his arm around her. But of course, once they got far enough away, he let his arm drop back to his side. He took a sip of his drink, but turned it into a rather large gulp.
"No problem. I just saw the guy was causing trouble. Doing my duty to a young damsel in distress." Joshua replied, with a slight dancing tone. He only hoped that this girl would know he was just kidding around. Jamie looked tough enough to fend for herself. Even if she couldn't fend for herself, she was still far from a damsel in distress. Joshua helped himself to another sip of his drink, before glancing around absentmindedly. He wasn't looking for anyone in particular. Especially with the question Jamie asked him next.
Dancing was a rather fun thing to do. For Joshua it was, anyways. But he only did it when he had enough alcohol inside of him. His self-conciousness kept him from doing anything out of the average, and dancing was included in that. But he'd had enough of his drink already, that he couldn't pass up this offer. "My name's Joshua. There, you know me now. Let's dance." he said with a bright smile.
He turned his attention back to the small female, his eyes checking out what there was to offer. Although he did have a look at what she had to offer, he was paying more attention to her clothes and hair. Bright red hair done up in a messy ponytail, tubetop dress, fishnets and stilettos. If Joshua didn't know better, he would've right off the bat taken her for a hooker. But this boy wasn't much into labeling at all; especially when you first meet somebody. So, the hooker label barely entering his thoughts, he figured she looked pretty attractive. Besides, he'd always liked girls with red hair.

Bright red hair done up in a messy ponytail, tubetop dress, fishnets and stilettos. If Joshua didn't know better, he would've right off the bat taken her for a hooker. (HAHAHA!) Jamie laughed at his comment about her being a little damsel in distress- but it was quite obvious that he knew she was far from it. She had always held her own, but it was always a bit more difficult when the guy was about four times your size in the middle of a crowded room. "Well, you did a very good job. You should see about job opportunities for knights in shining armour." She teased playfully, shifting as another stranger brushed past her. She turned her gaze back to her savoir and listened carefully over the sound of the music to hear him introduce himself. Joshua. She looked back to his face again and decided it fitted him perfectly. "I'm Jamie- let's roll." She replied, reaching a hand out for him to shake before she led him out onto the dancefloor. If she had known his first reaction to her, chanced are she'd have laughed. Hooker? She got it all the time. She had lost count of the number of times she had been walking down the street and a rich guy in his fancy Jag would pull up and ask her how much she'd charge for a few hours. It didn't take a long time for him to realize she wasn't for sale when she ran her blade down the side of his freshly waxed vehicle. Poor bastard, but he had had it coming. She turned to face him on the dancefloor as a song with a faster beat started up. She didn't recognize it, but a person didn't have to to be able to dance to it. In one hand she held her bottle and the other wrapped around his neck. Jamie pulled herself just a little bit closer to him as her body swayed to the music. "Were you supposed to be meeting someone?" She spoke loudly over the even louder music, hoping she could hear him. If he had been meeting someone- especially a girl- there may be an issue wih who he was dancing with, but for the most part she didn't really care. She was young, she was free- and she was incredibly messed up.

ooc; Haha. Well, whenever I see girls dressed like that they usually are hookers. xD No offence intended to Jamie, however.
Joshua chuckled softly, and shrugged. "I already got a job. I don't think I can handle two, considering the one I already have." Even though she was obviously kidding, it would be pretty hard to balance between two jobs. Being a resident at a hospital took up a lot of time. He barely got time to relax, let alone taking on another job. He gave another absent glance around. Again tonight, it was like wall-to-wall people. But it also made dancing all the more exciting.
He felt himself get pulled out to the dance floor, and he just flowed with it. The only real worry in his mind, was spilling his cooler. It didn't though, since he already drank enough and he wasn't getting pulled all that hard. "Jamie." he whispered to himself under the music. He repeated it for the sole purpose of remembering it. "Jamie..." he added, again under the music. The only way Jamie would be able to tell he was talking was if she saw his lips move. Which, for more than one reason, he hoped that she didn't see them move.
The music began to play, and Joshua was all too happy that it was a faster beat. He never danced slowly, unless he was with a girlfriend. Or a crush, for that matter. But so far, Jamie wasn't either one of those. Not that she wouldn't turn into either one of those, just not yet. He'd just learned her name; crushing on someone like that wasn't a very good choice. Unless you believed in love at first sight.
He felt one of Jamie's arms wrap around his neck, so naturally he responded. Now with an arm around her tiny waist, he lifted the bottle to his lips once more. "Meeting someone? I just did," he replied loudly, teasing again. But hopefully it was obvious to Jamie that he hadn't come with intentions of meeting up with anyone. As the two of them danced, Joshua couldn't help but feel like he was a teenager again. He was far from it, of course. But he was dancing with a young female, and he had a drink in his hands. He smiled mostly to himself, as he thought about this.
He hoped that they would end up hanging out all night. If not, a good portion of it. So far, she seemed like a carefree, wild, partier. Somebody he definetly wanted to be around tonight. Everyone around them were dancing too. Joshua and Jamie had found themselves a spot where they were surrounded by the other dancers. A lot of them had drinks, much like him and Jamie. The fact that he was surrounded by dancers, just made him even more excited from having come out tonight.

“Hey, a knight in shining armor can handle anything.” She teased back, laughing lightly at her own stupid little joke. She hadn’t been in a good mood like this for ages. That was the thing about Jamie; she didn’t have a job. In fact, she had never worked a real job in her entire life. What did she do for money? Art. Any type of it, be it music, painting, sketching…even photography when she could get her hands on a camera. It also helped that her living expenses weren’t that great- she lived in one of the most sketchy apartment buildings in all of New York.
Dancing in a room full of people like this felt natural to her- even though she had only had a small group of close friends at home. They had hung out with a larger group and they had had parties here and there- had gone out clubbing every once and a while. Dancing with him- well that wasn’t anything new either. Not him in particular, but dancing with strangers was just what she had done. She lifted her bottle to her lips and took a sip, pushing those memories to the back of her head. She was trying to make a change here, and tonight she was determined to have fun.
She laughed at his comment about already meeting someone, deciding to play along. “Hmm, was she as fabulous as you expected?” She asked dramatically, throwing her head back for effect. Of course she was teasing, and she hoped he knew that. The slight teasing back and forth was fun- much less hardcore than the teasing her and Trev did, but still cute.
His carefree personality and his willingness to speak to her made her feel the need to get to know this boy. She didn’t know what had gotten into her tonight, but she was in the mood for making friends, and that didn’t happen often. She could only hope that he would be interesting enough to keep up with her. “So do you do that for all the girls?” She asked him. “Save them from evil giants in bars?” For some reason, she didn’t think it was a one-time thing with him. It was sweet really.

This slight teasing going on between the two of them, made the boy smile. It was something he could get used to. That is, if he and Jamie had any type of friendly relationship beyond tonight. That wasn't necessarily going to happen, especially since they met in a bar. But hey, anything could happen at this point. "Yeah, I guess you're right. I could just ditch the one job, and be a full-time knight in shining armour. Get paid in hugs and kisses." he commented, a slight, barely audible chuckle passing his lips.
If one were to ask him what it's like to be dancing with strangers, Joshua would be completely honest and say it was fun. He never actually danced with strangers up until he was about twenty years of age. Around the time he started going to actual clubs. To go to a club and dance with just people you know, was rather tough. Unless you come with a larger group of friends, which doesn't always happen.
Joshua pretended to think for a moment, before nodding. "Yeah, yeah you could say that. Then again, I met her when she was being advanced upon by some drunk." he commented, and his lips curved up into a smile. He took another sip of his drink, before turning his attention back to the female of which his arm was wrapped around.
He chuckled again, before shrugging lightly. "Not unless they need saving. You, I realized, needed saving." He said this in a light, almost teasing tone. No, she probably didn't need him to get saved. She could've just kicked him where it hurts and ran. Fending off a man was as easy as that. Of course, it does depend on which man you're trying to fend off. But some will back off if you do the simplest thing.

“Hmm, well I suppose it always depends on your current job.” She said plainly, taking a sip from her drink. Getting paid in hugs and kisses wasn’t quite as lucrative as being a lawyer or a business man on Wall Street. She decided just then that he was just too adorable to handle. She wanted to ruffle his hair but logic told her now was just not the time. She didn’t want to throw off his cool. The fact that she was dancing with a complete stranger didn’t even pass her mind anymore. Now he was Joshua, the cute blonde who had saved her from Big Mac Bob over in the corner. Not the typical bad-boy she’d go for (for a lover or a friend) but she’d give him the benefit of the doubt and give him a shot. He seemed like a good guy, but people were quite surprising these days. She’d give it some time.
“Hey!” She protested, though she knew he was teasing her. It was a two-way thing now. “I’ll have you know I did NOT need saving. Your way was just a little more…civilized than mine and I’m nowhere near drunk enough to get kicked out of here yet.” She argued her point well, taking yet another glug of her drink, handing the empty glass to a waitress that was making her way through. She took an iced bottle of the tray that she had left her empty cup on and took a sip of that as well. You could sure dress her up, but you couldn’t take her out without some form of repercussion.
She studied him for a moment, thinking for a second. “Okay, I’m gonna say either Medical School or Law School. Am I close?” She asked, interested to see if she was getting any better at this.

Joshua still didn't quite now what to think about Jamie. He'd just met her minutes ago, and they were already teasing each other. Sure, it was light and calm. Not really going very deep with it. Just staying on the surface, talking about how Joshua had just saved her from a drunken guy advancing upon her. He always liked to find out more about the people he talked to. But, well, there was the factor that he had just met the girl he was talking to. There's also the place they were in right now, drinks in hand and dancing. Not a very good place to get to know her all that well.
He chuckled lightly, as she protested against his statement. It was fun for him, when he teased someone and they actually reacted. No, he didn't actually want her to freak out and get angry. But her reaction was a lot better than if she just sluffed it off and did nothing. Joshua wasn't quite sure why he liked getting reactions out of people like that. Then again, it was human nature. Everyone he knew seemed to like other peoples' reactions, depending on what they had to say to them.
"Yeah, yeah. I know. You don't give me the impression that you needed saving. Of course, I didn't get a very good look at you before I got myself in the middle there." he commented, with a small shrug. He lifted the bottle in his hand up to his lips, taking a sip from it. He still had his arm around the girl's waist, as they danced together. But now he hoped that they wouldn't end up playing out one of the normal scenarios; the 'cliches' of a male and a female dancing together at a bar, if you will. Either they go their separate ways, or they end up in bed together. Joshua didn't want either one with this girl. She seemed interesting, someone he'd like to be friends with before the night was over.
Once she took a guess at his job, Joshua wasn't surprised. It seemed everyone he talked to could just guess that he was in the medical field. He didn't really see it. He could look in the mirror, and wonder what it was that people could guess his line of work. But he'd gotten used of it now, and just sluffed it off. "Yeah, you're pretty close. In fact, you're dead on. I'm a resident surgeon at Mount Sinai."

“Hm, alright then that’s fair enough. Consider yourself forgiven.” She laughed as he casually mentioned that he hadn’t had a good enough look at her to judge weather she needed saving or not. Who knows, if he had seen her perhaps he had left her to deal with things on her own and she would never have gotten to know him because she’d have either been kicked out or had left.
As usual, Jamie measured the situation she was in now. Crowded bar, loud music, a drink in both their hands…everything was normal accept that his hands weren’t plastered all over to her lower posterior. It was different, but Jamie wasn’t upset about it- a long shot away from that. Part of the reason she never made any friends was because she’d sleep with a guy after a night such as this and then left it at that. She wasn’t one for getting or giving phone numbers- she preferred no connection accept the ones she had with her friends in New York.
No, the cliché wouldn’t do for her tonight. Besides, he seemed like a sweet boy- one she’d like to know later on. “Oooooh go me.” She laughed as he revealed her correct guess at him being in the medical field. She didn’t know what he was, but he looked like he belonged. Maybe it was the tired lines that softened his face, or the soft look in his eyes that made him look like he gave a damn if he did good in this world or not- either way he was a good looking boy.
“Hmm…if you can guess what I do, the next round is on me.” She said, motioning to her drink. She’d be interested in what his response to this was, it could only entertain her.
