Sam walked through the streets of Times Square, with her Versace sunglasses on. She smiled as she listened to Aerosmith through her earphones. It was a warm yet cold day which felt good with the sun in her eyes. The snow was melting and so was Sam for a guy she had recently seen in a department store. She then bit her lip and grinned as she turned red, even thinking about him. You didn't even meet the guy so shut up, Sam she thought to herself and then shrugged. "Rag doll livin in a movie hot tramp daddy's little cutie!" she sang quietly to herself, listening to Steven Tyler's beautiful voice.
"Bump bump" she hummed to the beat of the song until it ended and then put her ipod away with a happy sigh. Sam walked over to an ice cream stand with a twisted grin on her face. "Hmm i could go for an ice cream right about now" she said and then ordered chocolate chip. She licked her lips as the vendor handed her the cone "Thank-you-very-much" she said carefully and took a lick. "Mmmm now thats good". Sam paid for the cone and then kept walking on the sidewalks, passing unfimiliar faces considering she had just moved to New York from her hometown, Menphis. She carried her shopping bags and then sat down at a table outside a small cafe. Sam took out a book and started to read, just relaxing on such a beautiful day while licking her ice cream.

"What do you mean, I owe you fifteen dollars!"
The girl's voice pierced through the bustling streets of town square. Normally, she would have been ignored, but she had such a presence about her that it was easy to make a scene. As people walked past, they saw her screaming at a vendor.
"Back home, it wasn't five dollars!" The girl, Chance, continued to shout. "Don't you think that's a little odd? Are you trying to cheat me?" She placed her hands on her hips and tapped her black Converse on the concrete as her dark eyes surveyed the man before her. Angrily, she wiped her bangs from her face. "I refuse to pay fifteen dollars for a bracelet that's not even anything special. It's a fake seashell for goodness sake!"
She continued to glare at the man as she chewed on her gum. God, she needed a smoke. One that would definitely take the stress away. But no....she couldn't buy one because this dickwad was trying to make her pay fifteen dollars for a bracelet. And not a good one. The bastard.

She just sat there enjoying the breeze until a shrieking sound pierced through her ears. "What the hell-" Sam jumped out of her seat suddenly hearing a voice holler through Times Square. She listened carefully until she realized it was a familiar voice. Chance's voice. "Damn. That pretty much killed the moment" she shrugged and then picked up her bags, walking over to wear the shrieking was coming from.
Now spotting Chance, who apparently was hollering and screaming at the angry-looking vendor. Sam merely shook her head and laughed as she walked up to her and the vendor. "You can keep it down you know. And what exactly is the problem here?". The vendor scowled and explained the situation. "Fifthteen bucks?! for a damn bracelet!" now she too, was screaming. Sam turned to Chance and gave her an oh-my-god-is-this-for-real look.

Chance and Samantha continued to scream at the vendor, causing a lot of attention to themselves. Chance would have hated to admit, but this was becoming fun. She couldn't help but look at Samantha and laugh. She gripped her stomach and laughed at everything. Not only were they in the middle of the Big Apple screaming, but the guy they were screaming at was turning red in the face and about to pop a vein. Hell yeah it was funny.
Chance continued to laugh as she looked at the man. "You know what?" she said, gripping her gut. "You're not." laugh. "Worth." laugh. "My time..." laugh. She covered her quivering lips trying not to laugh anymore.

Sam knew that if she continued to scream in rage at the vendor, Chance might forget about the bracelet. Now listening to Chance speak, Sam decided to speak up too. "Hmm well seen as she doesn't care anymore , there's no need for fuss" the vendor scowled at what she said. Now everyone who was passing by was staring at them. "Hey Chance" she turned to face her friend, considering she didn't make such a good salutation in the first place. She grinned at Chance who was still laughing. "Sorry about that, but that vendor might have Bird Flu" the vendor started to mutter to himself and she, herself chuckled.
Sam began to walk with Chance on the sidewalks and lighted a ciggerette. "So whats up?" she asked. Chance was now eyeing the cigerrette. "Uh-" she hesitated for a moment and then took out another ciggerette. "You want one?"

Chance narrowed her eyes at Samantha. "Now, you know I do," she said, before snatching it up and laughing. She placed it to her lips and lit it herself. "Ahh," she sighed. "Sweet taste."
She closed her eyes and quickly reopened them, noticing that Samantha had actually asked her a question. Chance wasn't one to make sense of questions right away. At least, not until...a few minutes later. Which is exactly what she had just done. "Well, nothing really," she said, shaking her head. "I decided to come to Town Square after leaving the library. Saw some cute stuff and wanted to buy it until he told me it was fifteen dollars. Guess I'm used to different prices." She grinned. "And you?"

Sam inhaled and exhaled, still smoking. She loved the feeling and taste that was running through her blood. "Sweetness" she replied back.
"Well i was starting to enjoy my day until i went deaf" she smirked and kept on walking. "Meh i just shopped and had a cone" she continued, "And flirted with a really hot guy" she added with a small laugh. "He was hiding behind a rack in a department store" she said with a grin. Sam sighed happily and then threw the butt from her cigarette on the ground.

Chance continued to smoke. She had a bad habit of smoking until it was down to the butt. "Lucky," she teased, as she took the cigarette out long enough to knock away some ash. "It's time for me to get lucky for once. I haven't had any since I let LA."
She shook her head and placed the cigarette back in her mouth. "And Lord, is it killing me." She laughed and threw her cigarette to the ground, stomping on it with her converse. "I think cigarettes are the only things that keep me sane nowadays."

Sam took out another cigarette and lighted it. She listened to Chance and then nodded. "Yeah it was hard for me to fit in when i left Menphis but hey just give it some time." she continued to walk with her, "And stick to those cigarettes because i hear now a days people cut themselves". She then made a disgusted face and shaked her body like a spider was on her.
"I don't understand it though. Sticking yourself" she shook her head and exhaled a puff. "I think you're luck will be changing soon though, Chance." Sam said and inhaled the taste. She loved everything about smoking. It was just so refreshing and the taste was addictive.

"My luck?" Chance asked, turning to look at Samantha, her eyebrows furrowing in thought. She pushed her bangs out of her face and continued to stare at her friend. "What do you mean?" she asked. This had definitely sparked her interest.
She dug her hands in the pockets of her coat. The cold of New York was beginning to get to her like it usually did. Man, she wished it was as hot as LA or Santo Domingo. If only there were stars to wish on.

"Yeah i mean you just have to think positive and good things will happen. Clicking your heels together is gonna' do anything." Sam replied back and exhaled a puff, while holding the cigarette between her fingers. "But damn i wish i could be back in Tennessee right now, laying under those Menphis nights" she hesitated for a moment and then continued to walk with Chance.
"So what you doin' tonight?" Sam couldn't help but ask since the convo was practically dead. She inhaled the tasteful smoke and then added, "I think i might go clubbing".

"I was supposed to study for this exam next week," Chance said, rolling her eyes. "Yeah right. I never study." She couldn't help but laugh. "Clubbing sounds fun! Where you headed?" She continued to walk and then looked up at the sky. It was extremely starry tonight and clear. The club would definitely heat her up and make the night even more great. "Man, that would be great."
