Rebecca's now aqua-blue eyes that were brimmed with tears, threatening to fall, watched as they had lowered the casket of none other than her very best friend, Jasmine, underground. Of all people, why her? Why take her life? Why couldn't it have been someone she hated; someone she couldn't and didn't care for. Those thoughts drained her mind as she watched, biting her lip. Life was hard, and the only death she had ever experienced was her dad's. Becca wasn't strong like Bobby, or Nick for that matter. Admitting to her own cons, Rebecca is weak, maybe not completely physically but definitely emotionally.
She could barely control her sobs, let alone the tears she knew wouldn't stop falling anytime soon. Her bottom lip quivered slightly as the thought of utter depression and shock still came over her. Rebecca Ainsley, feisty and unpredictable, still could not believe the prodigy she had grown so close to had died. It was unbelievable in her eyes and she'd do anything to see her one last time. The open casket ceremony back at the church was more than enough to make her burst into tears all over again after being able to sustain them for what seemed to her like so long. The paleness of her face and the small frown on her lips. Rebecca hoped that Jasmine had at least, died a happy woman.
Breaking her long gaze at the now closed casket, her red, puffy eyes roamed the graveyard. So many people, all dressed in black such as herself, had came to the funeral, she almost wanted to cry in glee though of course, Becca held herself back from doing so as this definitely would not be the best timing. Jasmine, for one, was a very lovable person and it came as no surprise that she had this many friends. Tugging on her formal black dress reaching to just below her knees, Rebecca wondered how much pain Jasmine's family felt after the loss of their daughter. And what about John? He had gone through so many losses already, and now this.
Rebecca pulled the black jacket she wore over the dress tighter as the cool Spring breeze blew on her skin. The contrast of her clothes were definitely not well with her already pale, skin. Just one glance at Becca, and one could tell she's been having a tad too many restless sleeps lately. The loss was just too unbearable, and she was sure others felt the same way; Dean, Banner, and as much as she hated to admit this... Lizzierat, too.

How did he know Jasmine? Well, to be brutally honest, he didn't. Not one little bit. He never even said a word to her. He'd seen her around here and there, but no words were exchanged. But Alexia, one of Joshua's closest friends, knew Jasmine. But even then, only kind of. So it was a distant, not-know-each other relationship between Joshua and Jasmine. But he had heard about the tragic accident, and how her young life was taken. His entire personality was pretty much based on care and love, so immediately he felt bad. He had nothing to do with the whole situation, and it triggered his crying reflex. No, he hadn't cried. He didn't know her well enough to do that. But he almost did. The first time he heard about it, he'd been sad the entire rest of the day. Death was just an overall tragic thing.
So, this boy was at the funeral. Accept, Alexia had asked him to attend with her. But he also wanted to pay respects, and show that he cared. Although, there was no shortage of people who cared about Jasmine. This fact made Joshua want to have known her before her time came. Of course, it was a little too late for that. Anyways, Joshua was sure that he'd go unseen at this funeral. He was standing in the back, dressed in dress pants, dress shirt and a tie; all black. He was far enough back that he could barely heard the words being said as the casket was lowered. He bowed his head nonetheless, as the only image of Jasmine he'd ever seen came to mind.
Joshua could hear various sobs from some of the people closer to the casket, and this just made him shake his head. Not because it was stupid they were crying. But he just didn't understand this so-called 'way of life'. Isn't it called a way of life? So why must such young people that have so much to accomplish, be the ones to leave this earth? If Joshua could do something about it, nobody would die. That wouldn't be very good either, so I guess death needs to be a part of life. But why so young?
He sighed heavily, as he pulled his head up. He studied all the sad faces in the crowd; his expression rather somber as well. He wasn't crying though. He couldn't; because he didn't know her. But he sure wasn't happy. As Joshua's eyes scanned the faces he could see from where he stood, he couldn't believe it. So many people showed up for this funeral. Was God watching? Is there a God out there? Things like this made him question if God actually existed.

Finding out that one of your closest friend passed away sucked. But what sucked even more was finding out that one of your closest friend passed away just a few mere hours after leaving random voice messages. Realising how those messages were the last time she'll ever be able to hear Jasmine's happy-go-lucky voice only made the knot in her throat tighten even more. Banner couldn't remember how much tears she'd shed when she heard the news about Jasmine's tragic accident but it had definitely been a lot. In fact, after nights of crying herself to sleep and days of mourning, Banner can't quite bring herself to cry again at the actual funeral. Her usually vibrant blue-grey eyes were nothing but an empty dull shade, slightly puffy from her previous sobs.
In Loving Memory of a Beloved Friend & Daughter.
Jasmine A. Scott
Born: February 18th, 1986 Died: April 28th, 2007
"For death is no more than a turning of us over from time to eternity."
She stared blankly at the tombstone, not wanting to accept the fact that her close friend has left her and the world so soon. The delicately engraved words on the granite gravestone were almost too painful to look at. How she wanted to cry so badly but somehow the tears just couldn't flow and it stabbed her in the chest that not crying was so much more painful than doing so. Throughout the entire ceremony, Banner kept silent, looking down the whole time, unwilling to look at the many faces who'd been so close to Jasmine. From the corner of her eye, she could tell that Rebecca was just as heartbroken as she was from the way the tears were slowly trickling down her pale cheeks.
Unable to think of whatever better thing to do, Banner only wrapped an arm around her as if to console both Rebecca and herself. If only everything had been this simple.

Not that she had known Jasmine all that well, but Lexi had spent a little time with her. A couple of adventures together, one mainly being carrying a drunk friend home with Jasmine's help, and some good times. All pretty much very fond memories of the singer and musician, even if she had never heard Jas sing. And now she was gone, forever, and it was all so sad. Lexi had decided to come to the funeral, almost at the last minute, and she hadn't wanted to be alone. She had asked Joshua to come with her, and she stood by his side right now, watching the funeral take place. Dressed in a simple black knee length dress, with a black lightweight jacket, and black pumps, she was a very subdued, demure version of herself.
Slipping one hand under Josh's arm, more for comfort than for anything else, she glances up at him. A brief, sad smile, from behind her dark sunglasses, and she turns to watch the graveside service. She hides a tissue in her other hand, occasionally using it to dab at the corners of her eyes, and she was glad that she had worn the sunglasses. Some people who knew Jas a lot better might not understand why Lexi was upset at such a beautiful funeral service. But it just made her realize how fragile life actually was, no one was indestructible. And having someone you actually knew die like that, just made it that much more relevant to what she did in her own life.
So many people, some that Lexi did actually know, and some that she had never met. She watches her friend Becca, close to the grave site, so terribly upset. And another girl that she didn't know comforting Becca. So many came to the service, it was a fine tribute to Jasmine, and all of the lives that she had touched. Lexi wanted to go over, and talk to Becca, but she was waiting for the service to be over, and she had her own small amount of grief that was taking up a lot of her thoughts right now.
