As Lexi entered the front of the house, there were people standing around inside of the hallway, and the music and people trying to talk over it made everything really loud. This was supposed to be one of the better parties of the weekend, and she wanted to check it out, and see who would show up. Liz had made some excuse about maybe showing up after work, so Lexi thought that she would go ahead, and meet up with her later. Pushing her way through the hallway, she said hello to some of the people she knew. That was the way it was for a lot of these parties, and her main focus right now was to make her way to the kitchen, so she could get one of the stiff drinks that usually could be found.
Seeing a few people in the kitchen, someone offers to make a drink for her. Thanking them with a wide smile, and a glance around, once she has the drink, she wanders out toward the back deck. She could be very social in these kind of situations, and usually was, she could always find someone that she knew. Walking around, she didn’t feel cold at all, since she was wearing a peach colored long sleeve top, and a pair of low rise jeans, with some pumps on her feet. She sees someone standing in the corner, leaning on the rail, and walks up him. Leaning on the rail next to him, she nudges him with her shoulder, and smiles slightly, looking at him with her brown eyes. ”Hey, Josh, it’s been a while! How have you been?”
She had known Josh for over a year, they had met at one of the parties. He had been a little quiet at first, but they had gotten into a conversation about the differences between classical and modern art, and he had seemed to be more friendly after that happened. They usually found a way to catch up, whenever they saw each other, and Lexi hoped that this was another one of those times.

Josh didnt know what hed come there for. He usualy went to se ewhat would happen, but so far it had been a drag. He had made himself a drink and came out here to listen to the music. Hed give it another hour before he left, besides maybe once he drank some more, things would start looking better. He'd just wait and see.
Josh took a drink his fingers hitting the rail to the beat of the music when someone came up beside him and nudged him. He recognized the voice before he even looked at her. Lexi DeMarco, he grinned to himself. "Yeah.. Long time"he took another drink and then turned so he was leaning his right arm on the railing and facing her. "Not to bad, not too bad. You?"he asked and tilted his head a little bit as he waited for her to answer. Finally something happened. He knew it would sooner or later, and he was glad it had now.

Turning toward him slightly, with one hand still on the rail, Lexi took a sip of her drink, trying not to make a face. It was a little stronger than she usually liked it, but when the ice melted a little, it would be more to her liking. As she watched him, her dark eyes showing how interested she was in what Josh was saying, she smiled, shaking her head and rolling her eyes.
"Oh, yeah, about the same as always. Between school, work, and the parties, I stay busy most of the time. But it's always good to see you. You still working with the graphical arts?" She was always a little interested in his artistic hobbies, it was so different for her, she wasn't really an artist. And that part of him always amazed her, she wondered how some people could do things like that. Maybe some people wondered how she could kick a soccer ball past a determined goalie into a net, but she didn't consider it to be the same thing. It was just something that she did, and sometimes, did really well.

Josh rubbed his chin, it was a little scratchy, he hadnt really shaved in two days and he wast sporting a bit of gruff. He drank the last of what was in his glass and then nodded. "yeah... busy busy busy."he smirked. "just so long as you remember to breath right?'he flicked his fingers onthe glass. His gray/blue eyes looked her over. "still lookin good as always."he grinned at her and then turned to lean over the railing again.
"Well Its going good, you know, not really much I can say about it, besides the fact that I'm still doing it and its ..."he shrugged, "you know"he glanced over at her again. He never did understand how a girl like her ever liked talking to him. Personally he thought he was boring, he rather liked just doing things on his own, then things with other people. Though he was trying to change that right? He needed to keep reminding himself that. He needed to be a biti more social, his brother told him to. "Waiting for the day I can put a bit of my artwork on you"he gave her a playful wink.

Watching Josh finish off his drink, and rubbing his chin, Lexi thinks that he had been there a while. She knew that he usually didn't last very long at one of these things, unless he had a really good reason to stay. Chuckling, her dark eyes glittering in the dim lights of the deck, she says, "Well, how could I forget to breathe? Been doing it all my life, haven't I?" Sometimes she could get him to talk a little more, if she teased him a little. It was part of her nature, trying to get people around her to laugh a little. And she smiles, looking away briefly, knowing that he was trying to flirt with her in his own way. "Thanks, Josh, glad you noticed. I think." She then laughs, before taking another sip of her drink.
Listening to Josh ramble on about his art, not really saying much, Lexi smirks a little, her brown eyes watching him looking her over. It didn't surprise her that he was doing it, he did have that reputation a little, from what she had heard. But she could turn it to her advantage, and see if she could get a laugh out of him about it. Rolling her brown eyes, and chuckling at him, she shakes her head slowly. "Oh, Josh, trying to see me with less clothes on, again? And you're going to have to show me some really good sketches, before I'll even start to think about it. And you know me, I like artwork simple and colorful, don't even think of doing one of the works of the Grand Masters on me!" She takes another sip of her drink, it was going down a little smoother now. But it was always good to give as much back to Josh as he would dish out to her.

Josh looked over the people that were there, some of them already pretty drunk, other watching as their drunk friends made fools of themselves. He glanced at her again and shrugged. "Well..'he said, "people seem to forget...just...dont over work yourself. Parties arent always a relaxing thing...or a let go thing either."he added. "All depends"he continued to tap his fingesr against his glass to the beat of the music. It had changed already, but he still liked it. That was one thing that kept josh at parties...the music. Not that he couldnt just listen to it on his own, but it was just a little different when listening to it at a party. "you think?"he raised a questioning/curious brow. "I was just commenting .."He said.
Josh laughed lightl. "Oh.. Im caught'He said, "Never could undress a girl wihtout them noticing'He smirked and chucked again slightly. "Hey I can do simle and color ful if you like"He said..."YOu mean...like a butterfly or a faerie or something of the sort"he said raising a brow. "Not usualy my style but you want something I can do it"He grinned. He resituated himself and then stood up a bit straighter. "Im gonna get a refill...wanna come?"

Lexi glanced around when Josh did, watching some of the people that were already trashed out of their skulls. She usually drank to be social, and to have a good time, but even she could go too far. And the drink that the guy had made for her had been pretty strong, she just needed to take it a little slow. Turning back to Josh, she shrugs, she could take his advice. "Yeah, you're right, Josh. But I usually keep myself in control at these things, sometimes someone needs help getting home. Have you ever needed someone to help you get home, Josh?" The slight smile gave away the fact that she was trying to tease him again, get another chuckle out of him. "And I know you were just commenting, Josh, but I wonder how many other women you have tried that on?" Gazing into his eyes with her own, and taking another sip of her drink, she was starting to relax a little. Maybe the drink was really strong, and it was starting to affect her.
And there was a laugh from the quiet and sometimes shy Josh. Nodding her head, slightly smirking, and lifting her fine brows, she says, "Oh, yeah, you're so busted." She had gotten him to laugh, and now he switched to one of his favorite subjects. No real harm in that, she could tease him a little more about it. "You've seen my tattoo, haven't you, Josh? I'm not really sure I want something like a butterfly or a faerie, I think I would like something else. I'm just not sure what it would be. If you want to suggest something else..." This was partly her way of getting him to talk a little more, sometimes it worked, and sometimes it didn't. Seeing his drink was empty, she nods, as she takes a sip from her own. "Sure, why not? I might want to freshen this one up, it's kinda strong. I don't want to be the one to be carried out of here tonight."

He shook his head. "I was meaning.. weith...everything"he said,"but..."He shrugged as he looked at her an amused look in his eyes. "Mm.."He said, "more like a mutual thing...either that or I just dont make it home till the morning"he smirked, and then raised his brows. "I could always take you home if your too worried."he said.He shrugged a bit whenshe asked him how many girls hes said that to and then smirked>
He raised his brows, and licked his lips a bit, 'well I gues my question, then, is ... is it working?"he asked. Josh was a flirt when he wanted to be. His eyes moved over her a bit slower this time, but it was hard to tell if it was in to go along with the teasing they were doing or if he was serious. He moved away from where they were standing as he weaved their way throughthe crowd. "Good Idea'He told her. 'Need a topper, Ill watchyou tonight if youd like"

Lexi watched Josh explaining himself, rolling her eyes as she could see how amused he was, and chuckling at some of his reactions. Her brown eyes were glittering with amusement, and it was hard for her to keep a straight face. Pretending that she didn't believe his comment about going home with other women, she says, "Oh yeah, that happens to you a lot, does it, Josh? And now you want to take me home? Should I feel special? No, don't answer that!" She holds her hand up, and looks away, pretending to be offended. But she was actually very amused by the whole thing.
Her reaction betrayed slightly how surprised that Josh was actually flirting with her. It was nice, actually, he was getting bolder, and a little more confident. Or was that just the drinks he had in him making him feel that way? He was looking her over again, and Lexi just rolled her brown eyes, shaking her head so that her straight hair moved across her narrow shoulders. "Not really sure if it's working yet, Josh, you keep undressing me with your eyes. Maybe I'm not that easy, as some of the other girls you try that on." As she follows him through the crowd, she smiles, he was trying to protect her, or get her into bed with him. And she was a little better than that. "You can watch all you want, Josh, I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me. I can take care of myself, most of the time." This wasn't her being overconfident, she just knew how to take care of herself in most situations.

he brushed some of his dark hair from his eyes and then shrugged a playful smirk on his lips. He said nothing to her comment. He reached otu suddenly and flicked a bug off her shoulder. "Asian bug"he said as if in explanation. "Am I throwing you off?"he asked her with a slightly curious tilt to his head his eyes a shade of light shade of blue now, as he studied her.
He got them to the kitchen and found the bottles. "What are you drinking?'he asked her over his shoulder as he started to make another drink for himself as well. "mm....maybe not so easy but after a few more of those you could be."he teased. "No...Im not that kind of guy, I prefer the girl to know what she wants, and to know whats going and actually be aware enough to enjoy it."he smirked.
Josh shrugged turning to look at her. "Didnt say you couldnt handle your self or anything of the sort...just offered to watch you for you."he said, "Depending on how the night goes...could ease my mind"He raised his brows. "So...gonna let a guy play protector for you even if he doesnt need to?"

Jumping slightly when Josh flicks the large bug off of her shoulder, Lexi realizes what he actually did, and looks at him with widening eyes. "Oh, my god, how big was that bug? It wasn't going to sting me, was it? I don't like stingers!" Looking very relieved when he said it was just an Asian bug, Lexi looked around, searching herself to see if there were any more large bugs on her. Looking up to see Josh eying her too, she shakes her head, as she starts to push toward the kitchen. "No, not at all, let's just get away from these bugs!"
As she enters the kitchen, and Josh starts working on the drinks, she glances in her cup, and shakes her head. "I'm not sure, it tastes like some kind of super strong wine cooler, fruity and alcoholic. Maybe you can just make me another one, not as strong." Looking up suddenly as he was teasing her, she begins to smirk, then switches to having an attitude. Putting her hand on her hip, she tilts her head down, having to look up slightly with her eyes. "I still won't be that easy, Josh! And should I believe you, when you say that?" Lexi suddenly sticks her tongue out at him, and chuckles, she was having fun with the little bit of flirting that they were doing.
Walking a little closer to him, circling around him, her lips curling into a sly smile, she looks him over. Oh, she was going to have some fun with this, and try to enjoy it as much as possible. "Well, Josh, I might let you do that for me. But you will have to earn it. And what are you willing to do to become my 'protector' for the night?" Her eyes glinting slightly, she was teasing him and testing him, wondering how badly he might want to do something like that.

Josh gave her a look like she was crazy. "Its just a bug"He smirked. 'and... Im think you may have carried him in... first one Ive seen all night"He nodded but walked away anyway. He gave her small playful smile and as they walked he lightly ran his fingers over hershoulder and to her neck to see if maybe he couldnt freak her out into feeliing like it was a bug.
He took her cup with a nod as he started to mix a drink for her. When he was finished he turned around handing it to her, raising his brow a bit as he smirked at her comment and gave her a small shrug. "Guess youll just have to see where you are in the morning."He laughed lightly. When she stuck her tongue out he shook his head. "dont stick your tongue out unless you plan on using it'He said with a small grin.
"Hm..."He watched her circle him and then tilted his head a bit as she asked him what he was willing to do to become her protector. "Well.."He said, "What do you want me to do?"he asked, his eyes steady on hers as he took a drink from his glass watching heer over the rim.
