Shane was laying down on his unmade bed, one leg bent, the other lying flat. He had an issue of MAXIM in his hands that he was flipping through. He was reading an article called "Nice Guys Finish Last", which was written by a woman who was basically detailing exactly why playing the part of nice guy was always going to work against you. It was talking about how women sometimes felt a little put off by nice guys, seeing them as either fake or weird, or even just too easy to bother with.
He shto a glance over to his best friend, and also dorm mate, Keith. It was making him wonder about him. The two were practically opposites. Shane didn't consider himself a bad guy, but Keith was practically squeaky clean. He wondered how far it had gotten him in comparison to Shane.
Though, he did remind hismelf that despite being with lots of girls and being well-liked, he still hadn't really gone far at all with any of the ones he really did care for.
He looekd at the magazine, and then back to Keith. Maybe he could figure some things out right now.
"What are you so nice?" Shane asked.

Keith was sitting on the couch playing the games that came on his phone. He never bought any games for his phone as most of them were just tricks to get you to spend $40 a day to try and un-subscribe from something you never subscribed to in the first place. Thats why he never bothered and was fine just playing Space Invaders. It was a classic and never got old. It was the perfect game. Atleast in his eyes it was. A lot of people never thought that about him.
He heard Shane ask something but since his mind was on something else he could only hear the sound of Shane's voice, but not actually what he said. "What?" Keith asked quickly looking up at Shane and then back at the game so that he didn't lose. He thought he heard Shane ask him why he was so nice but he must've heard wrong.
Keith wasn't that nice. He just didn't publicly insult people or try to feel up every girl that he laid eyes on. He was just private and would ignore the people he didn't know. Even if they said something to him. Unless they didn't look like they'd be dicks. Then he'd talk to them.
He wasn't nice. He just wasn't rude. He was.. average if you will. He respected everyone and their privacy only in hopes that they'd do the same to him. He was all for that 'treat people the way you want to be treated' thing. Most of the time it worked too. He wasn't bothered, and he didn't bother anyone. Unless they messed with his friends or something. Then they were in trouble.

"Eh, nevermind. I'm just trying to find something that works," he shrugged, tossing the magazine onto the floor. He quickly checked his alarm clock. It was set for 11:30 am... perfect... looks like he'd be waking up early. Considering msot days he woke up around 1 or 2, this was a big deal.
He looked over at Keith who was playing on his phone. "Bro, what are you doing? I think I'm gonna buy a Wii or something for times like this. We should get one of those projectors and put it in the Common Room and charge people to play with it. Heh. Who wouldn't want to play some of those games on an 8 foot screen?"
Shane was just musing. He didn't really have the intention of buying a projector and a Wii jsut to charge people to play, thoguh it did make him think maybe he should get them anyway for personal use.

"Ok then" Keith said, shrugging his shoulder as he continued playing his game. Dodging oncoming shots and trying to shoot some himself. This game was easy for the first few minutes but as there became less and less targets it started getting harder. As all games do the further you get in them.
Keith looked up at Shane, an eyebrow raised. "What do you mean what am I doing. Im playing the games on my phone" He said taking his eyes off Shane and back down to the phone. But it was too late. His attention had been elsewhere for too long and he was hit. He lost and there were only 3 targets left. "Damn" Keith exclaimed loudly in frustration, although not overly frustrated. He exited the game as it was only taunting with big, bold flashing words in the middle of the screen that read 'GAME OVER'.
"A Wii? Put it in the Common Room?" Keith said, thinking about it for a little while. It was quite a good idea. An easy way to make money since Keith didn't have a job. The people at College would spend money on anything and not think twice about it. Playing a Wii on an 8-foot screen would be amazing to them. "Dude that awesome. We should totally do that!" Keith said, an ear to ear grin on his face.

Shane looked at Keith like he had three heads, and was silent for a good thirty seconds. Finally, he furrowed his brow and looked as if he was about to speak, but stumbled over a thought and instead stopped himself. Another few seconds and he stood up.
"Hey bro, if you really want to," he said, laughing. "I was just kidding though, but I guess it wouldn't be too bad an idea." Shane shrugged and grabbed his laptop from the desk, opening it up and typing away.
"Looks like it's $250," he said, pointing at his computer screen. "But we'll probably want to buy three extra controllers and some games, right?"
Shane scratched his head. Maybe it's be worth it.

Keith found himself getting rather excited at the thought of making money, without actually working. They'd be their own bosses. There was only one problem though. Would the school let them use the Common Room for it. "Maybe we shouldn't do it at the Common Room" He said looking around their dorm, wondering if it was big enough. "Coz you know I don't wanna be going back and forth between here and there carrying the Wii and games and screen and projector and shit you know." He said coming to the conclusion that it most definitely shouldn't be in the Common Room. "This place might fit a few people though. Well more then a few. But I don't know if I want lots of people to be where I live. You know.. it could work in here though. If we moved some things around" He nodded, looking around.
"$250? Sweet I'm definitely in. We'll go halves in everything. How much do you reckon that would cost us. Coz games aren't cheap.. Bloody rip off pricks" He snarled getting a little agitated as he thought about the prices on things these days. It was crazy how expensive everything was getting. No not crazy. Annoyingly disgusting. But enough of that. All that mattered now was that they were hopefully going to make money from this little expensive move on their part.
"So are we really going to do this? Thinking about it im not so sure that everyone would pay to play a Wii when they can buy their own. Cost most of the people here would be wealthy enough to be able to afford it" He said having second thoughts, as he often did after making impulsive decisions but not following on them after thinking about them. "What do you think?"
