Anna let out a short laugh, shaking her head as the awkward fog drifted away. The silence of the apartment was enough to prickle her nerves, but only barely. They were beginning to see the hint of comfort growing and developing, definitely a good sign.
His compliment did not go unnoticed. Anna saw him blush; the feminine and romantic side of her wanted to melt, but for now she just stood and smiled at him with a sweet expression and warm, blue eyes. "You're just being sweet," she accused quietly with a small grin. Then, almost as she had in the rain, Anna stood on her tiptoes and delivered a single kiss, though this time on his cheekbone. "But thank you," she added once she had rocked back on her bare heels.
"I would still be up for a movie, if that offer's still open."

ooc; -hits fast forward button-
It was about an hour and a half later. They'd talked for a few more moments, before they settled down for a movie. He had made Anna pick, naturally. It turned out to be one of Evelyn's movies, that he hadn't seen yet. Teddy had relaxed pretty much entirely. She was his girlfriend now, he was no longer suffering from emotional problems, and he still had his guitar. Life was most certainly good. The two of them had both had taken a spot on the couch, and Teddy had moved just a little bit closer as the movie played out. A little while after, he'd shyly reached for her hand, enveloping it in his once more.
The ending credits were playing now, and Teddy felt even more comfortable than before the movie. Just completely relaxed, as if he and Anna had been dating longer than a couple hours. He grabbed the DVD player remote in his hand, and hit the 'power' button. "So, that was better than I thought." he commented, and shrugged. He couldn't remember the name though. He'd been too caught up in Anna; and the fact they were dating now.

The temperature was turned up in the apartment it seemed, making Anna's clothes dry progressively quicker than she had anticipated. Once they settled down to watch a movie, Anna was practically free of any chills or damp spots. The living room couch turned out to be much more comfortable than she thought; before long, she had pulled her legs up underneath her and leaned her head against the smooth texturing.
She had picked out a film purely based on the cover. Anna hadn't seen too many new movies and this one appeared fairly recent. The images looked interesting, detailed and intricate... almost poetic. It was intriguing enough to keep the young woman's attention throughout the majority of the following hour and a half. Of course, she kept stealing glances at Teddy and was giddy when he scooted slowly closer. When he reached out to take her hand, she willingly gave it to him and even dared to so much as shift closer towards him. By the time the film was over, her head was against the back of the couch and her cheek just barely resting on his shoulder. They were picture perfect, it seemed.
"I liked it," she said enthusiastically, lifting her head from it's place on his shoulder and glancing one last time at the ending credits before the TV turned black. "I wasn't so found of the supporting actress, though. She could have had more emotional depth," she added, shaking her head and letting out a soft sigh. Anna was constantly observing and evaluating actors and actresses, both on screen and on stage. It had been a requirement during Theatre 1010 and had practically drained into her everyday life. Realizing what she was doing, Anna laughed and looked over at Teddy sideways before saying, "Sorry, I'm not trying to be weird."

Teddy felt his hair drying rather quickly, and from what he could tell it looked like Anna was drying out at the same speed. It was a good thing too, or else she'd probably be shivering next to him. That was something he didn't want. He would get anything in his apartment wet before watching her shiver. But since it didn't come to that, mostly everything could stay dry.
As he watched the movie, he felt Anna scoot closer to him. He smiled madly at this, and it refused to fade for what seemed like the longest time. The feeling of her cheek just barely resting on his shoulder, spurred another smile. Again, it refused to fade for quite a long amount of time. He might've looked a little odd, smiling like a mad man at the movie; when it wasn't quite something to smile at. But he was happy. And not the 'making-a-new-friend' kind of happy, that he'd been recently. This was a new, different happy. The exact kind he felt with Julie. That is, until she ripped his heart out and left him with nothing. He hoped to god something like that wouldn't happen with Anna.
Teddy listened to her words intently, before chuckling a little with what she said about being weird. "Hey, it's your job isn't it?" he pointed out, with a small shrug. "I mean, being in theater and all. You're supposed to be able to spot those things?" He was a little disappointed when she'd lifted her head. But they're bodies were still close, and her hand was still enveloped in his. So the disappoint didn't last long before being replaced with the new happiness he was becoming addicted to.

Anna nodded thoughtfully, her lips pressed together just enough to suggest the thought process she was going through before responding. "Last semester it was. It kind of stuck with me, though. I feel like a critic," she said with a short laugh, rolling her blue eyes at her own antics. In all reality, it was a nice trait to acquire. However, sometimes it kicked in when she least expected it and she found herself noticing the tiniest discrepancies.
"You're adorable when you grin." Once again, the hopeless romantic in Anna flared up. She had turned her head and was watching him with a soft, crooked grin. The early stage of romantic investment was still strong and thriving in the auburn-haired teenager. There were no flaws, no imperfections: everything was wonderful and perfect for the time being. Ah, young love.
Resting her head carefully on his shoulder, Anna let her eyelids flutter shut. She was enjoying the temporary but strangely comfortable silence that fell over the room for the time being. The feeling of her cheek on the fabric of Teddy's shirt mixed with the innocently-loving adoration in her chest made for one peaceful and happy young woman. "Thanks for inviting me up," she said without moving her head off his shoulder.

Teddy felt completely at peace with himself at this point. It wasn't until he actually gave it some thought that he realized why, but it was pretty obvious. He was with his second girlfriend in his entire nineteen years. His first one was quite a while ago; back when he was sixteen. He was barely thinking about how the first one ended though. The only thing that he was thinking about, was that the first time he saw Anna he liked her. And now, he was sitting with her on his couch, holding her hand.
He pulled himself out of his thoughts as he realized that she was speaking to him. "Oh, don't worry about that." he said, once she'd taken a pause. "Besides, things are supposed to stick with you through highschool and college." he added thoughtfully. With his past, he hoped that his highschool years didn't stick with him. But yet, his college years were shaping up to be a time that he would want to remember.
Teddy couldn't help but grin over at Anna when she spoke of his grin. "You're cute, smiling or no." He hadn't actually seen her crying or sad yet. But his statement had been just about when she had a smile on her face or not, but still happy. Once Anna had put her head back on his shoulder, he placed a soft kiss on her forehead. "Thanks for accepting my invitation." he added quietly. He squeezed her hand ever so gently, and just for a second. Just to emphasise his comment.

Anna tilted her chin just enough to stretch her eyes up to watch him talk. She was almost in complete adoration. Her storybook romance was practically unfolding in front of her, though there was no white steed or shining armor to be seen. Even so, the two had kissed in the rain and were cuddled up on the couch now just listening to each other talk. The feeling of her own body up against his was enough to make her blush with a mix of delight and excitement. It was a new experience for the teenager.
Laughter spilled from her lips at his return compliment. Scooting herself a bit closer to relax more against his side, Anna simply said, "I'm not always cute. I can be vicious sometimes," she added with as much of a nod as she could manage while still leaning against his shoulder.
"You're welcome," she said quietly, smiling down at her feet curled up close to her body. She was warm now but the position strangely kept her more at ease. "Thank you for not pushing me away." Her tone was mildly jesting but her words were genuine and said with a tint of seriousness. She couldn't imagine the mortification if he hadn't kissed her back when they were standing in the rain. It would have been awful.
For a moment there was no noise save the sound of their own breathing and the rain falling on the windows overlooking the street below. Anna closed her eyes and let her entire body relax, her weight shared between the couch and Teddy's shoulder. She felt completely at ease in what was almost the most relaxing moment of her life. Opening her eyes and straining them upwards, Anna took in all of her boyfriend's features. His jaw was strong and square, his eyes and mouth softer in comparison. A tiny smile crept on her face and she forced her eyes shut for another few seconds to just enjoy the moment.
After awhile, she heard the sound of a faint ticking - the clock on the wall, she realized when she opened her eyes. It was getting late. Anna felt a twinge of sadness but she knew she had to get back to campus. Lifting her head, she attempted to smother a yawn before saying, "I need to get back." Her eyes focused on him for a second before looking down at her clothes. "I just got dry and now I have to get wet all over again," she said with a small laugh.

Teddy couldn't really imagine this girl to be vicious at all. She seemed so sweet and cute, that to see her angry is not something he wanted to see. If he did end up getting her mad for some reason, it probably wouldn't feel all that great. Even if they just started dating. They were friends for a while first, and the best relationships seemed to stem from that. There really was no reason to be worrying about getting her angry so soon though. The relationship only started a couple hours ago.
"I can't really see you being vicious." he commented, giving voice to his thoughts. "Then again, I've only seen you when you're happy. So..." he added, with a shrug. He glanced down at her as best he could, seeing as her head was on his shoulder. It was a good feeling to think about what had just happened between him and Anna. The rain, the kiss, and now the movie. But time was ticking, and this wouldn't be lasting so much longer. He knew that.
He tilted his head once more towards her, placing a soft kiss on her forehead. "How could I have pushed someone like you away? Especially when you were kissing me?" he asked playfully, with a smile. He leaned his head back against the couch, making it slightly more comfortable for him to look at her. "If I had pushed you away, it would've been out of shock." he added, another spurt of happiness making his lips curve upwards.
It went silent between them again, but Teddy didn't really mind. It was comfortable and relaxing, as they sat together. He could feel her relaxing a little more every once in a while against him, and he tried to fight off a smile with that. He didn't want to seem too crazy, smiling with every little thing. He couldn't control it though. Something about Anna made him want to jump up and down shouting out of happiness. Of course, he didn't do that. But he sure wanted to.
Teddy realized he'd turned his head away from her as he let his mind wander a little. Once he heard her voice cut through the silence again, he turned it back towards her. "Aww...do you have to?" he asked, slight sadness edging into his voice. He hadn't meant to say it, it just kind of came out. "Yeah, no kidding. Do you want to take my jacket with you? Or a towel or something? Shelter yourself?" He'd never been like this. Ever. Even with his previous girlfriend. With Julie, he never really cared if she got wet in the rain. Yet, with Anna, he did.

Anna giggled and nuzzled her nose against his shoulder. "I'm just kidding," she said, smiling up at him with warm eyes. Now that a relationship had blossomed between them, Anna didn't feel many reserves in noting how handsome her frie--... her boyfriend was. She loved the curve of his neck and the drop of his jaw - all minute details, but striking enough to make Anna's heart beat a hint faster than usual.
She closed her eyes for a split second when he leaned in to kiss her forehead. Pushing back a shiver of happiness, she watched him with a small, soft smile while he spoke. He was smiling a lot more than usual, which only put a domino effect on Anna, making her smile even wider. "I don't know," she responded, shrugging lightly. "I wasn't really thinking it all through, but if I had I would have been nervous you might not like it." A blush touched her small cheeks making her look down at the floor with a small, shy laugh. She lifted a hand to her head, idly running her fingers through her hair and barely shaking her head at her weird answer to his question.
Her brows lifted and a sad smile crossed her mouth when he asked if she really had to go. "I have exams tomorrow, so yeah, I do." Watching him with smiling eyes, Anna's lips curved at his sweet concern. "Are you always so nice?" she teased, laying her head down on his shoulder for just a moment. She was intentionally delaying her depature, but she didn't think Teddy would might.
"I'll be okay." Lifting her chin, she pressed her lips against his, not really warning him of the coming kiss. She let her lips linger for a second or two while her hand rested briefly on his shoulder. By the time she pulled back her chin, she laughed a little and just looked at him with a smile. "But thank you for offering."

When Anna nuzzled her nose against his shoulder, a warm happiness spread through him. Everytime she'd so something like that, a wave of warm happiness would crash over him. He liked it, and wished Anna would do more things like that. "Yeah. I know." he replied, raking his fingers through his hair casually. He kind of felt disgusting from the rain, even though it was clean. He made a mental note to have a shower after Anna left.
He thought about how he'd go about replying to what she had said next. He didn't want to make it sound too weird or distorted from his actual thoughts. "Yeah. I guess that's true." he said slowly, thinking rather hard about it before saying it. "People have really ugly self-images." he added, with a shrug. He had a rather bad self image. But it was slowly changing into a better one. Especially now, since he'd got himself a girlfriend. Well, rather, she got herself a boyfriend. He just rolled with it.
He let his head back against the couch. He felt rather tired actually. But he'd be a gentleman and get up and walk her to the door; as reluctant as he was of letting her leave. "Ah. I see. Mine aren't for a couple more days. I should study tonight though." he said quietly. Not a whisper, just lower than his normal voice. "I dunno..am I?" he added, as he began to slowly play with her fingers. He'd just realized at that moment that their hands were still clasped together. So he took that moment to gently play with her fingers, knowing he'd have to let it go soon anyways.
Teddy was slightly shocked from the kiss, but he liked it nonetheless. If anything, the shock factor amused him. But this time, he had time to kiss back since she let it linger and continue for a longer time. "Oh, no problem. The offer's still on the table, if you want anything. In fact, do you want me to walk you home?" he said, his voice as low as earlier. Accept this time the breath had been taken from him from the soft kiss. "I know it's not so far, but..."

"Yes, you are," she responded with a sweet smile, her eyes soft but dancing nevertheless. Resting her head back on his shoulder, it was clear Anna wasn't entirely ready to stand up and walk out. She knew she had exams and needed to leave; her English final was tomorrow and even though it was an afternoon class, she wanted to get a good night's sleep. However, she simply remained on the couch, her eyes watching his fingers interlace with her own.
Anna watched with a repressed smile when Teddy offered to take her home. Her eyes moved to look out the window; the rain was letting up so it wouldn't be particularly miserable if he wanted to walk her home. But, it was also still rain, even if only a little, and she didn't want to put him through the same drying process all over again. Besides, her dorm was only a short distance from the Huntley Apartments. Turning her attention back to Teddy, Anna smiled and shook her head, lifting a shoulder in a shrug. "You know you'll get wet all over again, right?" Raising an eyebrow dramatically, she said, "It probably wouldn't be worth your time."
With a sigh of sadness at the thought of leaving, Anna picked up her lack of desire to leave and stood up. Her muscles nicked at her from laying down for so long in such a strange position, but she didn't complain. Instead, she stretched her arms and let out an exaggerated sigh before looking down at Teddy with a crooked smile. She stretched her arms out once more, but this time palms up towards Teddy to help him get up. "Now you just have to get better at initiating kisses," she said with a playful laugh. Whoops.

Teddy didn't really bother with saying much else. If you think about it, 'Yes you are' doesn't leave much of a window to say anything else. If he had really wanted to, he could've come up with something to reply with. At the moment though, he kind of just wanted to soak up this comfortable silence. He knew it'd be ending rather quickly, so it was good to just relax with her.
Anna finally said something, ending the silence. She'd said something about getting wet again. That wasn't really Teddy's main concern at this point. Besides, he could just take a shower and warm up anyways. He had been planning to do so whether he walked her back or not. "Yes, I'm aware of that." he responded, his tone light and happy. "But I think I'll take that risk." he added, with a slight shrug. "Not worth my time? Are you kidding? Being with you is worth my time." he added, a smile appearing on his lips.
He felt her stand up at that moment, and a cold rush of air hit him in the spots Anna's body had once been. He hated that feeling, but he'd been prepared for it. He took her hands in his; knowing full-well what she wanted with the gesture. Instead though, he pulled her down into his lap. He didn't say anything, he just placed a soft kiss on the girl's lips.
Teddy let it last for a bit, before pulling away. "How's that?" he asked, in a whisper. Even though he'd known what was coming, the kiss had still taken his breath away.
