Brandon looked over at her sister. She had been sleeping all day. All day. While he had been doing chores around the house, cleaning, laundry, the usual things. He couldn’t believe that his sister could be so selfish. It had been nearly a month. She had cheated on the man, so why was she so upset about the marriage not working out and shit. He just couldn’t understand it. And it was obvious why, she hadn’t realized that she had loved him. Well he was dense in the head, and had never fallen in love. Sure he lusted. Every guy has lusted over some girl or another. But he never really had “those” feelings. The ones that made you just feel like your on top of the world. He thought he had with his high school sweetheart, but soon realized how wrong he was when he found her in her bedroom with some guy half undressed. He just couldn’t believe that his sister had done what he had done to him.
He looked at her once again. She was so peaceful in her sleep, than her crying mess that she was when she was awake. He didn’t want to wake her. But he did want to take her out somewhere. She needed a break from crying, and he just wanted her to get out and be the person that she had been before she had met this guy. Letting out a rather loud sigh, he decided that he would do things on his own. Anger coursed through him a bit. Why did she always ruin his plans, and make him feel guilty and sorry for her. He wasn’t supposed to be sad for her. She deserved it. And she was the one who was crying. It didn’t make sense to him, but he would have to let it go. He grabbed his coat, and left a note on the table saying that he was out, dinner was ready, and not to wait up for him.
He wouldn’t be returning anytime soon. Brandon didn’t know where he was going to go after he had left the apartment. He wasn’t even sure if he had anywhere to go, except be by himself in his car. He decided that wherever his car took him, was the place that he was going to go. He drove wherever and whenever, filling up on gas, and just wasting an hour, grabbing food and other things. He continued to drive and after what felt like a couple hours, but was only 1 and a half hours later, he found himself in front of a bar. His thoughts about his sister at home alone moping just got him wanting to get out of his car, and go drinking for the rest of the night. And that was exactly what he wanted to do. Brandon got out of the car and walked over to the line ups.
Coyote Ugly. He had heard about the bar before. Very famous, especially for the girls dancing and other stuff that went down in there. He finally got in, and walked immediately over to the bar. He ordered. ”One bourbon on the rocks” He said. A minute later, he was sitting down, hunched over the drink, wondering what the hell had gotten into him lately.

There she was again, at Coyote Ugly in New York, trying to get away from all the drama that had suddenly entered her life. And Lexi was ready for a vacation from it all, or at least, a night of getting really drunk so she wouldn't have to think about it for a couple of hours. First, there was the whole thing with Liz over the trip to Alabama. Was it her fault that someone had made it sound like Liz was going to be with her roommate? It hadn't been so bad, until Liz had found out that Dean was with Anna and her on the trip. Then Liz had just wigged out, and acted all jealous about Dean. It was always something about Dean with Liz, he didn't call, he wasn't at home, he was at home but not answering the door. She was just about over the whole Liz-Dean thing. Lexi knew she had promised to help Liz, but she had warned Liz also. And Dean the player was driving Liz nuts, and Lexi had to hear all about it, until the past week, when Liz hardly talked to her at all. It bothered her so much every time she thought about it, Lexi just didn't want to think about it anymore.
And there was the whole thing with her own relationships, it was like Lexi was going nowhere. Christian was fun to be with, when they did things together. They could talk, and laugh, have a good time. And she liked him very much. But it just wasn't moving to that next step, and she was getting frustrated. Why couldn't he see how much he affected her? Dean kept wanting to play, that was fine for the moment. And she didn't want to get into a bigger fight over him with Liz. But that one kiss had shown how weak she was, around Dean, and she couldn't do that anymore. If she let Dean kiss her again, she would be lost forever. And Dom had been acting a little more affectionate than usual lately, there was something going on with him. Maybe he was working too hard, but he seemed to be wanting to spend more time with her lately, and she thought something was up. But she didn't want to say anything about it, because it might trigger her own feelings for Dom. And she wasn't ready to do that yet.
All of this resulted in a high state of frustration for Lexi, and she didn't want to think about it for an evening. And hopefully this bar would be the distraction she needed. Sipping on her wine cooler, dressed in a creme colored tunic top, jean mini-skirt, and pumps, Lexi takes an empty bar stool, and leans on the bar, still holding the bottle in one hand. Glancing at the mixed drink on the bar top, she looks over at Brandon, and does a double take. "Brandon? Oh my god, it's good to see you! How have you been?" She was glad to see him, it had been a while, and she wanted the distraction. Suddenly pointing at the large mixed drink in front of him, she smirks, deciding that the wine coolers weren't doing enough for her. "What is that? And can I have one? I need something stronger than this fru fru crap I'm drinking."

Brandon heard a familiar voice, and looked up to see who it was. Well he knew who it was. He could never mistake the person for anyone else. He suddenly placed a smile on his face. He needn't bore Lexi with his life story, and depressing self. He could hide it; it came in handy for his ability to hide his emotions at times like these. "Hey Lexi. I'm good. I'm living. How about you, doing alright in life?" He asked her with a smile on his face. Well she did make him feel better, and he didn't know why. He looked at the drink when she had pointed over at it. He didn't know what was wrong with it. Except that it looked like one of those drinks that people drunk when they wanted to get away from life. He just laughed when she had said what she had.
"Aren't you a bit under aged to be drinking hun?" Brandon asked. He was pretty open with her, and was just joking with her, but he acted very serious when he had said that sentence. Alexia could drink, and he knew that she could handle a drink. "Besides the fact of being underage, you think you can handle such a hard drink, and not go completely drunk on me after a sip of this man's drink?" He continued, completely joking, but acting very serious about what he was saying. The bartender had came over, and Brandon was still half laughing, and half smiling as he said, "Can you get the lady a Bourbon on the rocks as well please" and smirked, looking over at Lexi.
"I hope you can handle drinking it..." Brandon had said, even though he knew that she could. Girls around here knew how to drink, and Brandon knew that. Underage drinking was everyday life. "Hey, what are you doing here anyways?" He asked suddenly, and very randomly. Well he didn't want to intrude on her personal life, so he added "Don't needa tell, just asking is all". He wasn't the type to intrude, because he wasn't the type that liked to be intruded upon. Though Lexi was different. She was so much more outgoing, and lively, and he just was more open to her. Cause this was being open, being able to talk, and not stutter at every moment.
The drink had come flying down the bar, and Brandon looked over Lexi with a amused smile. He wanted to see her expression when she took the first sip. He remembered when he had first started getting into hard liquors. He was making faces, and just having the hardest time drinking it. Another time was when he was playing strip poker with a group of friends. The girls kept picking on him, and he had to take a shot, or take off some clothing. Of course shy Brandon took the shots. He wasn't accustomed to drinking, so by the end of the night, he was so drunk, him and his friend had decided that it'd be fun to streak across the university. It was quite hilarity. Of course, Lexi wouldn't do that. He laughed at the thought. But covered it up with a cough.

Shrugging her shoulders, Lexi notices Brandon's friendly smile, and she returns it, just as friendly. Here was someone she could just relax with, talk, and maybe have a little fun, without having to say anything about the thoughts crowding her brain. Maybe this was a good choice, coming to the bar on this particular night. "Yeah, I'm okay, can't really complain too much." But her eyes were giving her away, there was a lot of doubt there, and it would be obvious to people that knew her. Chuckling to herself, as Brandon laughs, it was so good to hear him laugh. She would have to see if she could make him laugh again.
And then she was a little shifty eyed, as Brandon asked about her age. Was he deliberately trying to get her into trouble, or was he just being Brandon, and teasing her? As he continued to speak to her, Lexi knew he was just teasing, and trying to get her to react. Didn't he know about her reactions to being challenged? Her dark eyes narrowing with intent, she leans closer to him, whispering in his ear. "I'll be legal in about seven weeks." Sitting back, her arm resting on the bar top, she glances at the drink with her brown eyes, then gazes at Brandon. "Oh, I never go completely drunk on the first sip. Ever. And I can handle that, no worries. Bring it on, Brandon, maybe I'll give you a break, before I drink you under the table."
Smirking slyly, she looks at Brandon, with her eyes glinting, as she waits for the drink to arrive. If he wanted to play a game, she was going to play with him, and try very hard to win. But she was surprised slightly by his question about why she was at Coyote Ugly. How much did she want to tell him? Not very much, but maybe it would help her a little, to open up to someone. Sighing, as she bites her gloss covered lip, thinking about how to answer his questions, Lexi shrugged her shoulders. Looking away for a moment, her dark eyes clouded in thought, she decided she would tell him a little about why she was there. "I just wanted to try something different, get away from some of the usual places I like to go. It's not my first time here, but I'm not a regular, either. But it's nice that I ran into you, we can catch up a little." Smiling warmly, Lexi knew that it was a good thing that she saw Brandon. It would help to cheer her up a little.
As the drink appeared in front of her, Lexi picked it up, looking at the colored liquid in the glass mingling with the ice. Looking at Brandon from the corner of her eye, she can tell he is waiting for her to taste it, and to have a coughing fit over it. Determined not to give him a chance to laugh at her, she takes a sip, remembering not to breathe while she did so. She managed not to make a face, but the slight squinting of her eyes, and holding her breath as she tried to get the fiery liquid down her throat, would be very obvious. Turning to Brandon, she clears her throat, and smirks at him, before she tries to speak. "That wasn't too ba-" She then starts coughing, tears forming in her eyes, and gasping for breath. Shaking her head, she looks at the glass, and makes a face, knowing that she is going to hear it from Brandon. "Do you drink that all the time? And how can you stand it? Ugh!" She is then rolling her eyes, and giggling at herself, this was going to be more of a challenge for her. Gazing at Brandon, taking a deep breath, she watches to see if he takes a sip of his drink. "Alright, you're turn. What are you doing here? You trying new places too?" She decided she was going to wait another minute or two, before she tried her drink again. There had to be some trick to it.

Brandon smirked at her witty reply. Very witty indeed. ”Seven weeks is a long time” Brandon smiled. Brandon had to hold back laughter at her compassion. Well that was cute. ”Oh yeah, is that a challenge? You know I do love a good drinking game, with someone who can actually keep up with me” Brandon asked really holding back laughter. He drank as if there was no tomorrow. Drinking was his past time. Well lately it had become so, and he liked the cool drinking just slipping down his throat. It was intoxicating. Brandon saw Lexi shrug her shoulders, which made him even more curious. Well it didn’t matter to him at all. People came out for no reason at all. And he was one of the people before. Coming out for no reason at all, but just to be outside. Now he had a reason. To get away from life at home, and suffering from depression that won’t seem to go away, no matter how hard he fakes it, or tries.
Brandon nodded his head in understanding. Although he did come here more often than he’d like. He was a regular, and a lot of people knew him. Especially the waitresses. But he mostly came there because Bobby worked there, and well if it was his friend’s establishment, he prefer that his money goes to their cause. ”Yeah, catch up a little” He just said quietly. He didn’t know what had gotten into him suddenly. He shook it off though. ”Seeing you has definitely made the night worth it” Brandon said seriously. He put on a wide smile afterwards though, not wanting to ruin the moment. Lexi was now taking the drink, and Brandon couldn’t help but smirk at what reaction would come of this. He was holding in fits of laughter that was about to explode from him at any time.
Brandon saw the face she had made, and heard the comment. He started laughing hard at what had happened to her. Typical, the first sip of a hard drink always caused a reaction from everyone. No matter if they were accustomed to drinking the lighter stuff, hard liquors were hard to swallow. ”Yeah, I do drink it all the time” Brandon said with a wide smirk, as he took the drink, and downed it in one swift motion. ”And it’s just a gift that I have.” He laughed. He was used to seeing people drink their first sip, but Lexi was by far the funniest reaction he had received. He chuckled at her giggling. She then asked the question that he was dreading. Well he might as well have been open about why he was there. ”Just to get away from my sister. I come here often. It’s a nice environment. You know” Brandon winked at this.
The girls running around all the time. Dancing on tables. Everything going on, any man would love it, and wouldn’t be able to deny it. Not even nice old Brandon. ”But you know, now that I’ve bumped into you, I know what I’m going to be doing all night” Brandon left it at that, so that her curiosity would get to the best of her. Plus he had to come up with something witty to complete that sentence. After a moment, the drink had come sliding down to him, and he had taken a long sip from it. ”The night is young, and we are as well. Whatcha wanna do while we’re here? Want to have a little competition. It’s something fun I used to play with my buddies back in University” Brandon couldn’t hide his amusement from his eyes, or mouth, as they tugged into a small smile. He didn’t wait for her response. ”All you’ve gotta do is drink whatever drink the other person orders for you. And if you flinch in any way, or start to become drunk, you’ve gotta do some dare or something like that the other person tells you to do” Brandon was really amused by this time, wondering if she’d accept his challenge.

Lexi could see Brandon holding back his laughter, and she knew she just needed a little more time before she had at least a chuckle out of him. And then she would have to build up for her next chance of hearing more laughter. With a crooked smirk, one corner of her mouth lifting slightly, she had to show him that she wasn’t afraid of his suggestion of a drinking game. She had done it before, but it had always been at someone’s house, or with a small group of people. But never in a public place like this, in front of a bunch of strangers. It would be okay, though, Brandon couldn’t be that tough, could he? ’Oh, yeah, you know it! And I won’t just keep up with you, I’ll beat you so badly, you won’t know what happened to you.” Maybe she was a little over confident, but she thought she had a decent chance of winning. And it would be a good way to pass some time, forgetting about her complicated life for a while.
As she was about take her first sip of her drink, Brandon says something that made her pause for a moment. Was he saying that, just to distract her, or did he really mean it? With a sideways glance of her dark eyes, she saw him trying not to laugh, and she smirks confidently. So he was trying to distract her, and she wasn’t going to let him get away with it. ”Aww, how sweet! But will you still be saying that to me, when I win?” And as she is coughing, she hears him laughing, a warm, genuine staccato of sound. This was going to be a lot of fun, and she was going to enjoy it as much as possible. But she needed to work on winning this little game of theirs, and there had to be some trick to drinking the bourbon in front of her.
And then she was staring at him, a little amazed, feeling that maybe she had been a little too overconfident. Watching him finish off his drink in one, swift motion, her mouth opens slightly, before her brown eyes narrow with determination. His laugh was lost on her, as she tried to think of how she was going to get her advantage back. Had she lost already, before she had actually started? That was part of all the drinking games, making your opponent think that they didn’t have what it took to win. Most of them required some demonstration of coordination too, and she was glad that this one didn’t. And what was he saying about his sister? Lexi tried to think if he had mentioned having sister of not, and she couldn’t remember. Could she ask him about it? ”Mustn’t be too hard to get you to come here, you seem to enjoy it. And yeah, it is a nice environment.” Grinning, baring her teeth, as he winked at her, Lexi glances around, watching the people, and seeing that there were a seriously greater number of guys there. Maybe she did need to come there often.
Turning back to gaze in Brandon’s eyes, his flirty comment not lost on her, Lexi lifts her eyebrows, playfully biting her lip. He wanted to flirt with her now? This was going to be really fun. ”Oh, really? How much of that fantasy am I a part of, Brandon?” Giggling slightly, she was curious, but she wanted to be able to tease him a little, with a flirty comment of her own. And she didn’t expect him to suggest that they have a ‘drink or dare’ game going on between them. Could she match him in this game? And could she beat him? The rules of the game weren’t all that bad, but was she prepared to do what he said, if she lost? She couldn’t pass up this chance to beat him at this game. With a knowing smirk, and a tilt of her head, sending her brown hair over one shoulder, Lexi smiles, her eyes lighting up a little. ”Oh, alright Brandon, I’m willing to play your little game. And I’m already thinking of ways to make you feel embarrassed, when you lose!” Glancing at the drink in front of her on the bartop, she picks it up, and sighs. Downing what was left in it in one long sip, she remembers to hold her breath, and she sets the glass back down. It was so terrible tasting to her, that she couldn’t make a straight face. At least she didn’t cough this time. ”Ach, blech, I can’t see how you can stand that stuff. But you know what? I’m not afraid of you, or your favorite game, with your school buddies! So, bring it on, Brandon, let’s see what you can do. And are we doing shots, or drinks?” With a confident smirk, and the burning sensation in the back of her throat not as bad, she thought she might stand a chance against him. But if this game went on for a long time, he would probably win in the end, he was larger than she was. But she was going to give it her best shot, and maybe see how many times she could get him to laugh.
