6:30. Movements were quick, pulling the headphones off his ears and tossing them on his desk. Roman took a good forty-five minutes to get ready, so he'd planned ahead of time on starting right about now. All his homework was done, and his mind reverted off of school, more so on the night ahead. It was just getting dark by the time he made his way into the bathroom, showering quickly. He pulled on a pair of nicer black pants, and slipped into a button-up white shirt. It had been a more casual work attire, usually for Friday nights, allowing him a little freedom by way of movement. Roman quietly ran a comb through his blond hair, parting it back to where it had been earlier on in the day. By now it had to be about seven, so he was sure to be on time. Eyes fell on his favorite jacket, deciding to bring it along. There was something about it that had a way of comforting him, making him feel safe. Fingers gripped the collar, shoving it under his arm. Even if he didn't wear it now, he had it for later if it got colder than expected.
Now he had a little time to relax, so he settled onto the couch, flicking on the TV. Nothing was on, as usual, so he continued to flip through until anything interesting caught his eye. Basketball was on, sure, but he didn't like to watch it very much, just playing it. Gaze drifted out the window, watching the fog creep up the window pane. His fingers moved skillfully on the remote, popping the back of it out of place, jumping as it fell into his lap. It was somewhat involuntary, so he never knew he really had done it until afterward. Sliding the plastic part back into place, he silently awaited Ridley's call.
{Hmm. I didn't know whether to say that she called, and have him go over or not so... Yeah. *shrugs*. Sorry, very short.}

Ridley had been hustling and bustling around her dorm trying to get all her homework done. It wasn't as if she had much but she had been procrastinating, too focused on her upcoming night to concentrate. Clothes were strewn around her room once she had finished her homework. Finding the perfect outfit for the night wasn't easy. Especially when she had had no time to shop for an outfit beforehand like she usually did for a date. But was it a date? She didn't exactly specify whether it was or not, hopefully they both took it as one and had a great time.
Finally deciding on an outfit made up mostly of stuff that she had gotten at a recent trip to Anthropologie when visiting her parents. The shirt that she had decided on was a green tank top which she paired with light jeans and a cream cardigan to go over it since it was so cold out tonight. It was a nice outfit for the club, if she got cold she would just throw on her cardigan but she probably wouldn't dance in it, that would make her sweaty. After finding the perfect outfit, she had stepped into the shower and did her hair which was styled down and curly/wavy. Her appearance looked nice and she was almost all set, now she had to find the perfect shoes to go with the outfit that were nice and danceable at the same time. She wanted a pair of boots so she went to the part of her closet that held the boots/uggs catagory. A pair of black boots stood out out at her and she grabbed them, shoving them on. Ridley had texted Roman a couple of minutes ago to come and get her and she was rushing around.

Roman hadn't exactly known what to call their 'get together'. A Date? Part of him wanted that, yes, very much. Yet, the other part (a small portion) was just utterly confused. He could take it that way, if he truly wanted, hoping she thought the same. Or, he could think of it as them just wanting it to be a friend oriented thing. Either way, it didn't change his attitude any. Roman liked to do stuff like this, just not alone. Which was technically why he stuck to being boring, and lazing around. Not that his version of lazing left him with much to do. He was constantly on the move, and couldn't bear to sit still for more than an hour, unless he willed himself into it.
The familiar rattling of his cell on the end table seemed to stand out, and he quietly turned off the TV. Replacing the back to the remote once more, he quickly texted her back, telling her he was on his way. Grabbing his coat of the arm of the couch, he proceeded outside, closing and locking the door behind him. The cold, harsh air hit him like a brick. It was kind of that initial feeling. The one that made you want to crawl back inside and just hide under the blankets and sulk. That's what Roman did best, for an hour at least. Eventually, he got moving again, getting used to the chill rushing under his shirt. Fingers fumbled for the keys in his pocket, getting inside his car.
Okay, so it wasn't the nicest thing in the world. It was an older model of a Mustang. Roman treasured it though, and took great care of it. If you leaned up against it, you had to grip for balance, because he waxed it at least once every week. It looked practically brand new, and was... In a way. Everything was modern, for his grandfather had helped him build it. Roman wasn't all that interested in cars until he met his grandfather, but the liking seemed to pay off.
Pulling up against the curb, he left the car running as he moved up the stairs to Ridley's dorm. Coming to a halt, he knocked lightly, stepping back as he waited.
{Ugg. School has completely swamped us. Sorry for not being on yesterday because of it.}

Being a girl, she always took a long time to get ready to go out. But since she had her coffee stop in New York she hadn't gotten home 'til later than she would have liked. That was why she had rushed through her homework. Well her homework was easy anyways so who wouldn't rush through it. Ridley especially wanted to look nice for tonight since she was hanging out with the biggest crush that she had in a long time. Since she was sort of a player, there hadn't been many boys that she liked as much as Roman. A part of her thought that they wouldn't be a good couple but the other part just pushed that away.
Hearing her sidekick ring, she picked it up and looked at her text messages. Seeing Roman's text, she grabbed her money putting it in her back pocket and waited for Roman to arrive at her dorm. She hated not driving but if it was a cute guy she would sacrafice one night just to ride in a car with a cute boy. Listening to the knock on the door, Ridley took one last look in her mirror and smiled as she opened the door to her dorm.
Putting her pink coat on, Ridley smiled as she greeted Roman. "Hi" She said and gestured to outside. "Let's get going" Her voice wavered as she exited the door being that it was colder in the hallway from her dorm than in her room, she had brought in her own heater from home. The brunette walked at the same place that she saw Roman walking and she knew quickly they would be outside and it would be cold but she didn't care. [/blockquote]

The moment Roman had gotten home from Coffee Bean, he had planned on doing his homework. Yet, procrastination sounded much more like honey, for the moment anyway. So, he'd moped around for a bit, trying to come up with something to do besides work. School was easy for Roman, and he didn't have to put in a bunch on effort to get the grades he wanted. All he had to do was pay attention in class, and do homework. Studying wasn't too important, for he was good at soaking things up. Working wasn't exactly what he'd wanted to do, so he'd attempted on putting it off. Sure enough, he found nothing worthy to do. Finding himself thinking about the night ahead, he mustered up enough motivation and got to doing the homework he was assigned. It didn't take too long, but he'd wasted enough time to where he'd have to rush through a little bit. He'd been quite looking forward to having a little bit of fun. Jumping out of his own skin for a bit sounded perfect, especially if it meant spending time with Ridley. It didn't take much to persuade Roman into anything, and that's proof right there.
To any person that had once lived in a place a hell of a lot warmer than here, this was cold. But by thinking about something else, you had as good of a chance than anything to semi-forget. Which you might say happened when Ridley opened the door. It was amazing how one person could make you forget whatever was on your mind previous the moment. He'd been occupied on keeping warm, and regretting the fact that he'd left his coat in the car. But, he had had a feeling he wouldn't be waiting long, and she hadn't let him down. "Hey," He responded, taking a step back to allow her to proceed in front of him, preparing to follow. He could tell she too thought it to be cold outside as her vocals wavered. "Cold out tonight, huh?" This wasn't exactly a question, just more of a thing to occupy energy, perhaps make him warmer. It did for a second or two, but otherwise it did nothing in particular. He silently followed her slim figure, a hand moving to her shoulder, as though providing some sort of guidance through the small amount of snow that had accumulated on the path.

Ridley had been anticipating their time together ever since she left the coffee house. A smile had been plastered on her face the whole time she was driving back to Hunter. People probably would have thought that she had just gotten some Botox done on her face if they had looked at her. Thankfully the ride from New York wasn't as long as the ride up there. The traffic had settled down and most of the truckers were off the road. That was one thing that she hated about the highway, the truckers with their huge eighteen wheelers. When they were next to you, you felt as if they could crash into you at any time. Her car, a vw baby blue beetle was a small car which made it easier for her to drive. Ridley had never liked big cars but she did adore her fathers escalade when she was living back home.
The brunette wrapped her coat around herself wishing she had a heavier one. She hated the cold which was why she didn't know why she had decided to go to college here. At the time of deciding which college to go to, Ridley had decided she wanted to experience the 4 seasons. That had turned out to be a huge mistake, not only did she get sick easier, but she'd had to walk to class in the freezing cold. Hearing him respond to her hello, she smiled lightly at him before preceeding out in front of him. Once they had reached a few steps later, she heard him ask her a question. It was pretty cold out tonight, but that was what was expected from a February night. "Don't you hate the cold?" Ridley responded with a light laugh. Watching her breath form a cloud in front of her, she smiled. Even if she hated the cold, the snow was always fun to watch come down.

Roman had never been one to really like driving. Yet, on an occasion like tonight, it was well worth it. He just didn't like the thought of being on a congested highway. He'd rather have an open road, nothing to stop you from just plowing on through. The trucks and careless drivers made him terribly nervous. This is extremely strange, for he's always been known to be a pretty laid-back person. He took what came to him, and made it up to be something of great potential. Yet, that didn't apply to him driving. It prided him to know that his grandfather had built it especially for him, it made him feel like people actually did care. But that's exactly what he'd learned up here in New York/New Jersey. People did care, and they always have. They wanted to be in your life, and know what was going on every minute. Which in the car aspect, he didn't want to throw that physical proof away by harming it in any way.
Roman wasn't exactly sure exactly why he'd chose a colder climate to move into. He could have moved toward the west coast, like California or something. Yet, he wasn't going to complain about it, for it was his decision in the first place. Yet, there was a pretty good chance that a business would be successful up in the Big Apple. That had been his original thought, but you could never quite tell with Roman. He liked to keep things to himself, but was widely open to every secret in writing. It took a while to figure him out, but once you did, it was an easy road after that. Most of it revolved around trust, though. As long as you were truthful, and willing to take what he had to offer, he was pretty good at spilling everything you might want to know. That brings you back to exactly how easily you could persuade him into things. He silently tilted his head in her direction as she spoke, not having to think about that question. "Yes, very much," He agreed, laughing along with her. "But, every kid's got to experience the joy of snow one day... Even if you're just a kid at heart," He stated, glancing back her way as the car came into view.
{{ Computers are always asses, I think everyone can relate. XXDD Anyway, ugh about my post. Very sucky, I apologize.}}

Actually, Ridley kind of liked driving. Though she didn't like driving for long periods of time. Otherwise just driving around town was fun. The top down on her bug with her hair blowing in the breeze and her sunglasses on. Mostly she drove with the top down in the summer time, sometimes in the spring time if it was sunny and warmer than usual out. Her favorite spot to hit during her drive was the beach. She loved taking her ipod there and sitting on a blanket watching everyone celebrate the new season. With a boy she liked going in his car and driving around. Ridley wasn't picky about the car that a boy had to have but she loved guys that had old mustangs, they were her favorite type of car. Her father had offered to buy her an old mustang but she had fallen in love with her current car and she hadn't wanted to get a car in which it wouldn't be good to drive in the winter time. When she got enough money she was going to buy herself one.
Being in a cold climate, she wasn't really used to it yet. It had been 2 years but every year and every vacation she went back to California where she got used to that climate again. All the beach boys were there which meant for good eye candy and a great tan. She would be checking out the boys through her sunglasses so they never knew that it was them that she was looking at. It was a good process that she found out from Bobby when they went to the beach. Listening to Roman speak, she smiled. He was so insightful, which she loved in a guy. "I love snow but I hate how cold it is."Ridley responded with a smile. It was the truth, she hated cold but loved snow. "Why can't it snow when it's warm out?" The brunette asked with a smile as they reached the car finally.
[[it's not sucky, it was cute. Computers are asses. agreed]] [/blockquote]

Weather was one of the best things in Miami. If you didn't like the weather at that particular moment, stick around for a while, for it always changed. The weathermen were usually correct on most portions, because it was generally sunny until you came around four-thirty or so, then it was just a dry heat. Roman liked to hang around the beach, or make his way to the water tower with some friends. You could see everything from the tower, especially the heart of the city. Everything was so dull during the day, and so alive at night. 'A city transformed' people had called it. The most exciting thing that ever happened while it was still light out was crime. Not that you'd call it a good sort of excitement, but it was interesting to watch. As well as the frequent street races, and surveying tourists. Yet, Roman had always taken a liking to wandering. He was always quite good at that. Whether it was in a car, on his bike, or on foot, he enjoyed the freedom it gave. You felt like a kid just attempting to find your way along, not really paying any attention to your surroundings. It had taught him a good sense of direction, so he had that to thank.
Seeing the car from a slight distance had gotten him thinking exactly what he knew about it. It had to be about a '68 or '69, but you couldn't truly tell unless you'd studied up on them. It was surely fast, courtesy of a little test run on the beach. Life was no fun without a couple donuts in the neighbors lawn, right? So, that brought you to exactly how safe it was. When you drove from Florida to New York, you were tested with all kinds of weather. Getting lost a couple of times, and ending up on some dirt road of a snow covered farm would truly tell you the answers to your questions. A smile slipped onto Roman's lips as she spoke, nodding in agreement. Truthfully, snow was just a light form of rain, any further and you'd be into hail. His smile widened at her question, shrugging. "Fake snow?" He suggested jokingly, leading her around to the passenger side of the car, and helping her in, though he doubted she'd need it. It was an acquired gesture, so it was more of an instinctive action. Walking back around to the other side of the car, he too got in. "All set?" He asked, buckling his seat belt into place, glancing toward her, wanting to make sure she was settled and comfortable.

There were things that Ridley liked about the weather and then there things that she absolutely hated about it. Rain was one thing that she liked, dancing in the rain was one of her favorite things to do in high school. People might have thought that she was a little weird for going outside without an umbrella but it was fun. Though there were days when she hated the rain. Those were the days that her plans got ruined because it was raining too hard. Natural disasters were the thing that she hated the most about the weather. Everytime there was a natural disaster, more than one person got killed. The natural disaster that she hated the most was Tornadoes. Ridley was deathly afraid of them all through childhood and still is, that made her glad to be living in Pasadena where there were no tornadoes, only mudslides but those didn't occur very often while she had grew up there.
Ridley's dad was a huge car freak. When she was still living with them, he used to go out to car shows and dealers almost every weekend. The car that he loved the most was an old Chevy. After admiring it so many times, he finally got enough money to buy it. She had loved riding in it with it's red and black leather interior and the top down. In the summertime, her dad was so proud of his car that it was the only one that he drove. Rid had taken it for a drive one time but she had the constant fear of something happening to it so she had taken up driving her own car. Listening to Roman answer her previous statement, she smiled. It was a witty answer that she was capable herself which was why she liked it that much. "Haha, very funny" The brunette answered sarcastically with a playful shine in her eyes. Helping her into his car was such a nice gesture. Most of the boys that she went out with just rounded the car to the driver's side without making sure that she got in alright. Buckling her own seatbelt, she heard him question her and she nodded. "All set." The brunette stated with a smile, she was looking forward to their night together greatly. [/blockquote]

Roman hadn't ever been much of a kid to worry about a lot of things. He was always the more curious type, which in the long run got him in some trouble, but nothing he was incapable of handling. Out of all weather, thunderstorms and lightning were his favorite. It was kind of like your own personal light show, but something much more real. As a younger kid, he'd sit on his bed and watch the streaks dart across the horizon. To most people it made them nervous, and even scared. To him, it was a type of comfort. A very strange type, but it suited him. Roman had some strange things that just made him, him, and that was definitely one of them. Rain had always seemed to find a way into his life as well. Swimming in the rain was his favorite, or running, either one. It relaxed you, made the outside world just fade away, and leave you with your own thoughts.
It had been James to first teach Roman to drive. That some might consider surprising, because he was usually completely wasted, not feeling up to doing anything with his son. Yet, Roman was always the one to back his father up on things. He could always see that the guy was trying to change, but it would take a while. Once Roman had turned nineteen, he'd given up alcohol all together. James was a good teacher, and a very dedicated one. His car wasn't anything special, but it got you where you needed to go. It was an old Dodge pick-up, and a complete tank when it came to driving. Not that it was hard to handle, but it always seemed to get the best of people in some kind of predicament. With Roman, it was always the 'get stuck on a deserted country road' thing. He'd always said that once he got enough money, he'd buy his father a different car. Somewhere in that promise, was getting to know his father a little better. Thoughts quickly returned to the present as Ridley spoke. Roman silently drove the car toward the nightclub, watching the snowflakes land on the car window then dissipate as the heat melted the crystals. Finding an empty parking space, he pulled the car in, careful to give just enough room along either side of the car. Killing the engine, he stepped out, moving around to the other side to assist Ridley. Opening her own door, he held out his hand for her to take, a gentle smile forming across his lips.

Worries were one of the biggest things on her mind when she went to bed at night. Usually it was about people or things in her life that made her scared. When she was little she used to worry about where her parents were if they weren't home. What were they doing? Are they hurt? Questions like that, that made her scared to think about the possiblities and outcomes of them if they turned out to be true. Ridley liked to be comforted by the possibilty that they were just out having some fun and nothing bad would ever happen to them. That was her sister when she needed her.
Ridley loved the summertime when there was heat lightning. There was something about the light even in the summertime when there was no rain, especially in California that enticed her about the lightning. Driving and watching the heat lightning at the same time was hard so she liked to pull over and stop to watch the lightning. Some people might have thought that she was crazy but it was relaxing. Bobby was the one who taught her how to drive, her mother hated driving and her dad was off on a business trip everytime she wanted to take a drive. It was a good thing that her sister was three years older than her, so she had experience and she was a liscensed driver over the age of 18 that could take her out on the road. Glancing out the window after her reverie, she realized that they were at the club already. She had never noticed how long they had been in the car, soley focusing on her thoughts about the past. After unbuckling her seatbelt, she pleasently found that Roman was standing outside her door, holding out his hand. Forming a smile, she placed her own hand gently onto his and lifted herself out of the seat. It was nice of him to help her out the car, not many guys did that anymore. Letting her heels fall in step with his own shoes, she was ready to escape the dreaded cold and enter the hot club for a night of sweaty dancing. She was awfully glad that she was with Roman tonight even if it could be a one night thing, she wanted to show him a good time. [/blockquote]
