Sliding down into the wooden chair at an empty table, setting the nearly empty tray in her hands on top, Lexi slides her backpack off of her shoulders, and drops it on the floor beside her. Pulling it open just enough to slide a book out, she sets the book on the table, flipping open the pages. As she starts to read, she glances at the colorful salad in front of her, and smiles slightly. This place was so amazing, they would make anything for you. She had to explain what you found in a nutty salad, and then the chef caught on, and made it to perfection. Apples, walnuts, spring leaves, grapes, carrots, cucumbers, all tossed in a lite vinaigrette, and she was in heaven.
Picking up a slice of the reddish yellow apple, she nibbles on it, turning back to her book. A reading assignment for a class tomorrow, and she wanted to get it over with, so she could do something tonight. Maybe she could call some friends, have a movie night, or maybe something a little different. As her thoughts crowded her mind, and she tried to digest both the apple, and the contents of the book, she didn't notice anything around her. Almost anyone could sneak up on her, and she would never notice.

Anna pranced happily through the hallways, sandals with just a hint of heel clicking on the floor below. She wore a soft, golden sundress with a cross-over chest and spaghetti-width strings that met at the back of her neck in a flattering halter fashion. Her hair was down, falling casually at past her shoulders, and she wore only a single bracelet on her right arm. The desire to fit in with the city-style had haunted Anna Sophia for what felt like ages. Now, she finally felt as though she could blend in nicely.
With a bounce in her step, the teenage girl made her way through the hall and down to the cafeteria. She was not particularly hungry, but was in the mood for company. When she couldn't find any friends in their dorms, her next bet (besides class) was finding them in the cafeteria.
Anna surveyed the room when she entered, eyes flickering pleasantly from one person to the next until she spotted a familiar face. Weaving through the tables and booths, she walked up beside Alexia DeMarco and smiled down at her. She stood like that for a few seconds, waiting for the girl to look up, to no avail.
When a few more awkward seconds passed, Anna Sophia giggled a little and sat herself down in the seat next to the brunette. It wasn't worth being stared at by all of the upperclassmen to wait for her friend to acknowledge her. Her tone was pleasant and bubbly, her Southern accent touching the edges of her voice when she spoke. "How are you, Alexia?"

Jaylin was walking down the hallway with her ipod in her ears listening to her favorite band. She had just got out of her English class and was heading towards the café because her stomach was growling. The fact that she didn’t eat breakfast also tied into why she was so hungry. Licking her lips she though of pizza with all the cheese and tomato paste. Of course the pizza in her vision didn’t contain meat because she was vegan and she didn’t eat meat. She stuck her ipod in her pocket and continue to make her to the cafeteria making each step faster because her belly was starting to hurt.
Pushing through the doors she walked her way to the counter and ordering her food. She didn’t know that she could be so hungry but apparently she could. Paying the lady she picked up her tray and looked around for a place to seat at. That is when she spotted her friends at a table and made her way over towards them. She was smiling the whole way there and couldn’t wait to see how their day has been. Sitting her tray down she took a seat across from the both of them then smirked at each one of them “Hey Anna and Alexia.” she said before picking up her soda and taking a sip.

Suddenly noticing something out of the corner of her eye, she sees someone sit next to her, and she jumps. Her look of surprise changes into a sly grin, she welcomed the distraction. "Anna, ma belle! I'm good, I'm good. How are ya?" Leaning over, she gives her a brief one-armed hug. Leaving her book alone, she points to her salad, shaking her dark tresses in amazement. "You ever have one of these? They're so de-lish! I could live off of these things forevah." Picking up a grape, she pops it quickly into her mouth, and sighs with contentment.
Before she could say anything else, she sees Jaylin approaching. Dark eyes widening slightly, she grins, this could be a bigger distraction for her. "Hey, hey, Jaylin! What 'cha up to, wild woman?" It was good to see her, it had been a little while. Suddenly wondering something, she glances back at Anna, and asks, "Do you two know each other?" Pointing back at the girl across the table, she tries to make quick introductions. "That's Jaylin. And this is Anna. If anyone's hungry, they can help me eat this salad. I'm not going to be able to finish it, but it's sooo goood!" She snags another piece of apple, and munches on it, as she tires to smile at the same time. It was good to see both of her friends, she always enjoyed spending time with them.

Anna giggled when her friend jumped in surprise. She turned her cheek towards her shoulder, not wanting to laugh too loudly and disrupt the entire cafeteria. It was relatively quiet, all things considered, and she did not want to be the one to cause a distraction. At least, not right now. "Marvelous!" she exclaimed in response to the question, shooting Alexia a broad grin. She returned the hug and let her eyes follow her friend's eyes to the salad in front of her. She shook her head, a no, when the girl asked if she had ever had one. "Salads are for Northerners," Anna Sophia said teasingly, pushing her shoulder gently against her friend. "The fruit, though, is acceptable." She grinned and laughed a little as Alexia popped a grape in her mouth.
Both girls turned their heads at the sound of their names. Spotting Jaylin, Anna offered a wide smile. Alexia spoke first, so Anna simply raised her eyebrows expectantly at the other girl. She would have asked the same question, so it wasn't worth repeating. When Alexia asked if they knew it each, Anna nodded enthusiastically. "Yes! Jaylin and I met a few weeks ago."
She declined the offer of a salad, though. "I ate a bag of chips in my room," she explained. They were her comfort food when she was away from home, it seemed. "Thanks though!" she said with a smile.

Looking up at her friend Jaylin gave a silly smile. Her dark eyes looking at her with such warm and grace and her belly still growling she picked up a slice of her pizza taking a bite and chewing it quickly swallowing it and feeling a little bit satisfy. “Hey, hey Alexia. I am doing great. Still wild and crazy as ever. How about you.” she asked her friend. She hadn’t seen her in a while. I guess they were both so busy with life and everything else. It was great when they did finally get to sit down with each other and eat or talk.
Turning her head towards Anna she laugh “yeah I know Anna we met a few weeks ago.” Jaylin said looking back towards Alexia when she offered her salad to them. “Oh I would say yes but I have this pizza and we both know how much I love salads” Jaylin said with a small pout but it quickly turned into a smile. “I bet it taste good because it looks so good.” pushing her pizza to the side Jaylin pick up a fork and dig into the salad taking a bit and smiling. “Cheese is bad for you. I think I will have some of this salad” she said with a soft giggle.

Lexi had big smile playing across her lips, talking to her two friends, and catching up a little with them. But when Anna told her that salads were for Northerners, she acts very surprised, and turns, lowering her chin, and looking up at her Southern friend. "You did not just call me a Yankee! Alright, Tennessee holler girl, keep it up. I'm gonna have to dig out that 'Girls Raised In The South' t-shirt, and start wearing it when I'm around you!" Not able to keep up her mocking glare for long, she starts to laugh again, closing her eyes briefly. As Anna talks about eating a bag of chips, Lexi wanted another chance to tease her. "I wondered what that earthquake rumbling was all about. I didn't see any large cracks in the floor, though."
Looking back and forth at the two girls, Lexi grinned, glad that they already knew each other. "Cool! I hoped that you had, this isn't such a huge place, most everyone gets around." As long as they were all having a good time, Lexi was pretty happy. She watches as Jaylin starts to work on her salad, and her brown eyes widen slightly. With a slight mischievous smirk, she reaches over to the large chunk of salad, and steals a walnut off of it. As she crunches on the walnut loudly, she looks at Anna and Jaylin, and sighs. "Okay, anyone know where the parties are this weekend? I am feeling that good time desire coming on, and I don't want to be disappointed!"

Anna gaped mockingly at Alexia when she began to dish out her own silly jokes about the teenager's home state. She giggled, placing one hand over her mouth to muffle the sound when her friend mentioned digging out such a silly shirt. Anna shook her head and rolled her eyes, a grin on her face all the same.
She did, however, gasp and nudge the other girl with her shoulder when she teased about the earthquake. "You are horrible!" she cried, her lips parted and eyes narrowed in playful anger. Lifting her chin and closing her mouth, Anna put on her dramatic arrogance and said, "I choose to be the better person in this discussion and not comment any further." She did not hold up the humour for long, bursting into quiet laughter and reclining in her chair.
At the mention of parties, Anna lifted a shoulder a little bashfully. She had not been to any of the campus parties since she arrived in New York. Although she was social, she had never really gotten up the nerve to actually go to one. Instead, she usually went running or found something else to do in her pastime. "I haven't heard anything," she said, spinning the bracelet around her wrist casually.

Jaylin chewed on the salad that she had in her mouth and watch as the two girls talk about things that Jaylin didn’t really know about. Jaylin didn’t come from America so she didn’t know much about the place. She was raised in Bosnia so all the things that they said she really didn’t know about. Maybe she will asked them later about it. But that is when she heard Alexia joke and Jaylin begin to laugh. That was quiet funny and Jaylin was laughing so hard that her cheeks were turning red.
“Yeah you two seem to know each other well” Jaylin said to Alexia. She wondered how small the world was. It was good thing that they were all friends thought. No doubt that they were being the campus wasn’t that big and people were so friendly there. They would have meet soon or later. Hearing the other girl back down Jaylin smile and decided to add her own comment “I think someone can handle the action. Oh don’t end my fun Anna.” Jaylin said doing another pout but then she started laughing. Seeing the two of them was a laugh.
Then came the comment on parties and Jaylin looked at the both of them wondering if they heard about the party on Saturday. It was suppose to be cool and everyone was going to be there. But seeing there expression she knew that they didn’t. “Well I heard that there is going to be a party on Saturday. I think there are flyers about it on the school wall” Jaylin said trying to remember if there were any banners or flyers.

Sliding in her chair slightly from Anna's little nudge, Lexi laughs a little loudly, and then covers her mouth, looking around, to see if they were bothering anyone. She quiets down, and turns back to Anna, watching with her brown eyes as she slouches in her chair. Lexi then leans a little closer, and says, "Chicken!" She then starts making chicken clucking noises, and has to stop when she starts laughing again.
She turns to Jaylin in time to see her cheeks turning red from laughing. That almost sends her into a fit of laughter, and she has to look away for a little bit. She loved messing around like this, and making her friends laugh. It was always fun for her.
As Anna plays with her bracelet, and Jaylin talks about the flyers on the wall, Lexi looks at Jaylin, and then back at Anna. "Oh, boo hoo. Why is it that the foreign chicas know where the parties are?" Nudging Anna's shoulder, while she grinned to show she was teasing, she turns back to Jaylin, and pulls a couple of grapes off of the salad. "Okay, wild one, we've got to get some details. Location is important, if it's at those low rent apartments on the edge of town, we don't go there." Looking back at Anna, she tilts her head slightly, and smiles. "You up for this, Anna, or are you staying in? You don't have to go, but if you do, I'll take care of you, make sure you have a good time." Lexi knew that Anna didn't go to many parties, she didn't want to push her into doing something she didn't really want to do.

Anna stuck her tongue out at Jaylin when she said not to ruin her fun. Seeing the girl put on a pout and then bursting into laughter, though, only made Anna's teasing expression fade into giggles. The three were clearly a recipe for entertainment this afternoon. When Lexi began to make chicken noises at her, Anna glared playfully and began humming the chicken dance, making miniature motions with her hands and tossing her hair around as she shook her head.
Shifting her weight and leaning her elbows against the tabletop, Anna propped her chin in her hands and listened to Jaylin mention the party on Saturday. She was still hesitant about going to one, but maybe if the two of them were going... it couldn't be too bad if her friends were there. Could it? Her mind wandered off the thought when Lexi nudged her shoulder and teased Jaylin. Anna grinned back and forth between her two friends, humoured by the little exchange. Two Southerners and a Bosnian - clearly they were quite the group when they got together.
A look of consideration crossed her features when Alexia asked her if she was going to go. This would be a good chance to have fun, and be bold like she always wanted to be. But what if something went wrong? What if she got separated from her friends or got picked off by a bunch of drunks? As she nibbled her lip, she decided to look at the bright side of the situation. They could go and have a great time, dancing and generally living the typical college life. If Lexi was there, Anna would be in good hands.
"Are you going, Jaylin?" she inquired, looking at the girl with slightly-widened blue eyes and a hopeful look. If Jaylin went, too, then Anna would go. Otherwise, she would probably stay home and study some more for the English exam on Monday.

Jaylin stuck her tongue back out at the girl, they were all being playful though and it was kind of fun. Knowing her cheeks were extremely red now she calm herself down so that she could breath better and so that she could loss the tint in her cheeks. She hated when her cheeks got that way. Turning her head in Lexi way she heard her comment about why did foreign chicas know about all the parties. “Oh lets just say I have my connections.” she said winking her eye then picking up a piece of fruit and popping it in her mouth.
Hearing her friend next question she should have know that those questions would be next “well no it isn’t in the bad part of town. I wouldn’t be caught dead there” she said pulling a piece of her hair back. Then smiling at the girl. “I heard it is in Huntley and that a senior was throwing it at his apartment.” she said almost as she was reading it from a poster. “But I it is up to you two if your going to go, I mean it is a senior and I am just a freshman so this party has to be cool right” she said looking down at the salad deciding if she wanted a grape but then decided not to.
Turning towards Anna when she asked if she was going to go to the party and Jaylin swallowed the food that was in her mouth. “Yeah I was planning on going. Oh come on Anna you should go, I bet you will have a good time.” Jaylin said knowing how much her friend didn’t like parties.
