Book smart wasn't exactly what someone would call her. More like she was party smart, not book smart. She knew where the best parties were and when they were going to be. Most of the time she got herself invited to parties at universities where no one even knew that she was only a high school student. It was a good benefit that you looked older than you were. She had been told that she looked like she was 18 when she was only 16. Though she never told anyone her real age, she was still happy when she was at a party.
She had never dreamed of owning her own store but she wanted a fashion line. Her mother was interested in fashion as well so she thought together they could create their own fashion line and sell it to stores that they both liked. To do that though, her mother had to be around when she wanted to work. They would hopefully start on it once Ridley was out of school.
Brooding was Roman's thing but she found herself doing it more and more often. It was probably all the time that she spent around him. Mostly she thought about her future and what she really wanted to do after college. But other times it was just about recent events. Hearing him reply to her statement of 'Sexy', she nodded her head and gave him a wink. "Yep, it's sexy" Ridley responded with another quirk of her eyebrow. "Yeah right, you should come with me to a party or a bar some time, i'll teach how to be totally unserious." Rid replied with another wink, she was just a ball of flirting today. [/blockquote]

Mind seemed to reel with thoughts of the past, what he'd wanted to do, who he wanted to be. Definitely not his father, he knew that for sure. That was extent of that aspect of 'smart'. He was pretty street smart when it came to knowing what kind of people to veer away from, and possible threats. You had to be if you planned on walking home from school and passing a trashy neighborhood. Walk quickly, but don't run. You'll look suspicious and the person most likely to run into trouble. That phrase stuck out most from all the others. Roman had learned the hard way, but was glad he had. Living so close to New York City, it might come in handy at times.
If there was one thing about Roman that you could count on most definitely, it was the fact that he had your back. If you needed someone to fall back on when another failed, he'd be there. If you needed a bodyguard for some odd reason, it's worth asking. He'd take a bullet for anyone on his side. He silently remembered the thing he'd said to the doctor after walking out of the hospital. "No, sir, I'll be back. Keep me on your list... I'd do anything for them, they're my entire life." And that was true, he'd do it all again fror someone he cared about. But, just the look the doctor had given him told him he was doing the right thing.
A glance was taken at his watch as she commented on him going to a bar or party with her sometime. A daring look overcame his face, his eyes lighting up in an excited manner. People often associated this with a puppy, no matter how much it bothered him. Another thing that was strictly Roman's was his smell. He always smelt of cologne and spearmint gum, as people told him. "Count me in... Well, teacher, we could start tonight," He responded, in the mood for something besides brooding. "Unless you're doing something tonight, of course," He added, watching her for a moment, awaiting a reply.

Thinking about the past was never fun. Usually it entailed lots of bad memories of her childhood. Having her and Bobby be watched over with by a nanny. Their grandparents lived in North Carolina so they couldn't come over and watch the two of them. Her parents were always out on their business trips, her mother being an actress always had a movie to go film or a t.v. pilot. Most of the time her father was home but then he flew out to go see his wife wherever she was filming.
Ridley was a hell of a fighter, she had gotten taught how to box by Bobby when they were in Junior High. It was good practice in case she ever found herself in a fight or if someone tried to attack her. She had continued boxing until freshman year, she had gotten popular and decided that she had no need for it. Though she still remembers how to box now and practices sometimes when she finds time to go to the gym around town.
Taking another sip of her iced coffee, she realized it was almost done. So she took the last sip and set it back down on the table. Glancing at him as he spoke, she smiled hearing his comment. Her plans for the night had just been to stay in and watch her one tree hill dvd set with a tub of ice cream. It was amazing, she could eat a whole tub of ice cream and never get fat. It was probably because she always worked it off the next morning with a run. "Sounds good to me." Ridley responded and pondered her answer to his next comment. "Yeah I have plans," Her answer wasn't finished but she was hoping to see that his face fell because he wanted to go out with her. "With you" She finished with a smile. Ridley had a crush on him for awhile but she hadn't thought much of it. She had no idea if he actually liked her back or not so she couldn't judge anything.

Roman had some pretty good times too, though. Not everything was bad. He learned a lot from living there, don't get me wrong. It got better though as time went on, and he grew to like how everything turned out. So what, his father was an alcoholic. When he wasn't completely smashed he was alright to hang out with. Sure, the only thing he talked about was... Roman really paid no attention. It was usually later in the evening, James had normally shaken him awake and wanted to talk. Yet, along with James came some pretty cool people to hang out with, so he couldn't complain. The bond with his mother was much stronger than anything, and she had introduced him to his grandparents. Surprisingly, they accepted him, and watched him while Hallie was at work. After they moved, Lacey and her mother came into the picture.
Roman hadn't really been taught to fight, he just learned. If you had to watch your back stepping out your front door, and got jumped almost every day walking to school, you had to learn. Even though they lived in a more wealthy area, Roman had preferred the shorter route, which went through the gut of Miami. Being a neutral person, he never really was bothered, except for that occasional sometime.
Roman finished off his coffee, staring into the bottom of the cup for a moment or two. All he was planning on doing was being lazy, watching TV, and eating. He hadn't totally figured out what to eat, but he'd eventually figure it out when it came down to it. Eating was like a friend, but he didn't like to just sit around and do nothing. He'd planned on a late night walk, going to wherever his feet took him. (Yes, he's a very big planner.) A bright smile formed as she responded, "Good," Lips parted to speak again, the smile fading. "Oh..." He paused for a moment, recollecting himself. "Uh, then maybe tomorrow night?" He asked hopefully, scanning her face with his eyes.
{Blah.}

Ridley didn't get along with many people in part because she was a total bitch sometimes. Alot of girls she deemed fake with their fawning all over her as if she was a goddess. They found out about calling her fake and they started to try and bring her down which made her go off on them. Basically Rid was miss independent, she hated to depend on other people for things which was made her a fighter. Her dad had always said she would grow up to be someone of importance and she was betting on that now.
Luckily Ridley never had to depend on her parents for a ride to school. The day of her Sweet Sixteen they were in Rio while she was at home. She had only got a phone call from them saying 'Happy Birthday' and to look outside. What was outside wasn't the most expensive car but she didn't like expensive cars. Mentioning only once that she wanted her powder blue vw convertable bug, she was surprised that she had actually gotten it and her parents remembered.
Her plans for being lazy were gone now and she hoped that he wouldn't cut out on their plans. There had only been one guy that Ridley had truly wanted to be with but that ended when the sex tape was released. Chase had said he didn't care about who she was but who she is. Though he was a hypocrit for breaking up with her because of the tape, she had still cared about him up until Freshman year. Rid smiled brightly when he responded with good but her eyebrows twisted into confusion shortly after. She had told him that she had plans with him not any other ones. "Roman, I don't think you heard me right, I said I had plans with you" Ridley responded with a light laugh. [/blockquote]

Roman truly didn't think slow, he thought much too fast. In the middle of doing something, he'd plan way ahead, going through mental checklists to what he needed to do, buy, or oversee. In many years of going grocery shopping for himself, he never kept a written out list. Which in the long run made him buy about twice as much stuff than one cart could hold. At times, he'd go in for the necessities. A bunch of packs of gum, for he went through a pack a day, was always on the list. It kept him from smoking, and utterly content with just something to entertain his jaw. That's when habit comes into picture.
He had awful habits, strange ones; ones you'd never even think would have existed. For example, he takes the backs off television remotes, mumbles to himself a lot, always closes doors whether it's a cabinet door or what, they just have to be closed. Roman took things apart, wrote in the margins of every book he read, and was always looking for something for his hands to do. Of course, there were many more, but those were just about the most obvious. If you thought about it, he was a generally restless person, and oddly liked to relax at times. Sitting didn't last too long, for he was always up and running again, but if he put his mind to it, he could make himself sit and relax.
He had a tendency to roam off within his own mind. Which, most likely lead him into not totally hearing Ridley when she responded 'With you'. You might think he had like ADD or something, just by the way he drifted off into his own little world. Sure, he heard what you were saying, but it just took him a while to get to it in his thought processing. A smile slid onto his face as he watched her, a happy nod given. "I kind of noticed once I stopped talking..." He replied sheepishly, though shrugging it off. "So, want me to meet you there, or swing by and pick you up?" He sat a little bit straighter, not slouching like usual. Backtrack to a time, stupid. Thoughts quickly interrupted him, but his lips seemed to move along with them, "Oh, and what time?"

Ridley didn't like to think in general. Usually thinking gave her some form of a headache that led her to the suspicion that coffee would cure it. Which usually made her end up in the New York City coffee bean before a huge shopping spree. I guess you could say that her thinking led to her spending money on a new wardrobe and tons of coffee. So really it wasn't a good outcome to get her thinking about serious issues. Unless you were prepared to buy her most of the clothes from a store she loved then you shouldn't make her think.
Rids had alot of bad habits, most of them were kind of odd but if you knew her and her personality, they would be slightly normal. One her bad habits was calling couples that she knew by a name that was a mixture of each of their names. Like her and Roman would be Ridman or something. Coffee Bean was another bad habit of hers, well actually it was more like an addiction. Their iced coffees were the ones that she craved every day during her class before she had lunch at the cafe.
She tended to space out once in awhile when someone was talking to her. Usually it was with someone who she didn't like or someone who was boring but alot of the time she spaced out on Bobby. The blonde would try to get her attention by snapping her fingers in front of Ridley's face. Most of the time she was thinking about what she was doing that night or about a boy she had met. Snapping out of it, she listened to his response to her previous statement. Ridley let out a small giggle and listened to his next question. "How about you pick me up around 7:30 - 8" The brunette responded and after a few seconds adding, "I'll call you when i'm almost ready." She smiled at him once more before checking her cell phone that was on the table. Ridley had alot of homework to do for her classes so if she wanted to go out she better get started. "I've gotta jet, homework calls" The brunette responded to his last question because she already answered it. Leaving a small kiss on his cheek, she gathered her things and headed to her car for the ride back to New Jersey.
[[you wanna make another thread of them before the club or no? ]]

You could sit and survey Roman for a while, and still not know who he acted like between Lacey, Hallie, and James. Surprisingly, he picked up most of his actions from James, even though he wasn't around much. If he was, there wasn't a lot of times that he was sober. At family gatherings, and places where his parents or Hallie's parents would be, he was stone sober. Most of Roman's habits came from his father as well. Like jingling the car keys when he was ready to go, and tapping his fingers on the steering wheel when he was angry or a little pissed at something. Very odd where you could get your habits from.
The thing that bugged him the most about him and his father, was that everyone seemed to catch on that they were just about alike. From the back, you couldn't tell one apart from the other. Relatives would come ushering over, carrying on about something in particular that Roman had heard millions of times. That's when he'd learned how to block them all out, and was actually quite good at nodding to their words. You might actually believe that he wasn't just faking it.
Roman nodded lightly at her words, making a mental note of it, though that would be the first thing on his mind. When he was looking forward to something, he found it somewhat hard to concentrate, but by just continuously telling himself to focus, he'd get something done. He'd probably go back and do homework, maybe write if he had enough inspiration. "That it does," He responded, taking a glance at his watch. His eyes followed her as she moved outside, bringing himself into a standing position, and moving to his car.
{{ Hmm. Up to you. XD }}
