Each step the young actress took across the carpeted hallways made the tiniest of squeaks from the water lingering on the bottom of her soft shoes. They were potentially ruined from all of the rain, but Anna chose not to concentrate too much on the negatives for now. The moment she stepped into the apartment complex, the air conditioning practically froze her down to the bone. Her wet clothes clung to her skin and the cold air blowing across her cheeks gave her goosebumps. Teddy's jacket was still wrapped around her slender figure, but it was just as drenched as her own clothing.
Standing in the seclusion of the elevator, Anna turned her head sideways to look at Teddy. They both looked pretty soaked. The staff in the lobby didn't look too pleased to see them walk through the door and drip water all across the floor, but the other options were slim. It was too chilly to stand outside under the awning and wait to dry.
Anna wanted to reach out her hand and intertwine her fingers with his own, but a nervousness kept her from moving forward with the idea. Her thoughts idled back to the park and the kiss, making a smile touch her lips as she looked back at the metal door opening to reveal a long hallway lined with apartment numbers. "Where to?" she asked, offering him a bright smile with almost chattering teeth.

Teddy blinked his eyes repeatedly for a while, before the extra moisture began rolling down his cheeks. He pulled his arm up and wiped at them, just making his entire face wet. Well, it was a lot better than giving off the vibe that he was crying. Once they got into the elevator, he shook his hair out a little and squeezed out some of the water. He always liked getting a lot of it off before he actually got inside the apartment. Mostly because he didn't want to get wet spots all over his own apartment.
When they'd walked through the lobby, he barely realized what kind of looks they were recieving. But him and Evelyn were paying rent, and they weren't doing anything against the rules. So there wasn't much people would be able to say to him. Ding The noise was followed by the elevator doors sliding open, revealing the second level. "Eighteen." he replied, his voice shaking a little from how cold he was. "Who knew how cold rain can be?" he added, with a smile.
He pulled out his key and shoved it into the keyhole, unlocking the door. He opened it and entered the plenty-spacious room. "Evelyn? You here?" he called, standing still for a moment; listening hard. Getting no reply, he shrugged and walked the entire way in. He kicked off his shoes, and pulled off his socks in the doorway. "So, I guess you'll need clothes, right? Well... uhhh..." Now he was confused. Offer her some of his clothes? Or Evelyn's? Or just let her sit and freeze her buns off?

Anna shook her head and lifted a quivering shoulder. Tennessee rain was never this cold, especially not in May. Most of the showers that late in the year were warm and worth spending time in if you didn't mind getting wet. The more time she spent up north, though, the more she realized that kind of rain was scarce. When it rained up here, it poured. The majority of the time it wasn't warm, but quite chilly. Tennessee showers were much more pleasant.
Stepping inside his apartment, Anna realized she still felt a little out of place. She had only been to his place once and that was at least a month ago. It wasn't awkward, just strange. Shifting her weight to her left foot, Anna looked around and wondered if his roommate would be here. Anna had never actually met Evelyn, but she heard a little about her from around campus. Apparently she was more into partying than studying and earning good grades, so it was rare for her to be seen in the classroom.
When nobody answered and Teddy asked about clothes, Anna bit her lip and raised her eyebrows at him. "If it's a hassle, I can wait until I get home," she said in a slightly hasty tone. She didn't want to put him in a tight spot or force him to go out of his way for her convenience. Then again, she was standing in his doorway with dripping clothes. There wasn't much chance of her moving off the doormat unless she was in something that wouldn't completely ruin the interior of his apartment.

Teddy began making himself at home, as if having Anna with him as an everyday thing. Hopefully, if the kiss meant anything between them, it would turn out to be an everyday thing. Or, well, an almost everyday thing. He disappeared inside the apartment, after pulling off his shirt. He grabbed a dry one, before realizing he'd left Anna at the door. 'Shit.' he thought to himself. Quickly pulling the shirt on, he made his way back to Anna.
"No, it's no big deal. I just don't think I have any pants that would fit you. And I don't think Evelyn would appreciate me going through her stuff." he replied, his cheeks going a little red. He honestly hadn't meant to leave Anna there like that. "One sec," he added, before disappearing again. When he came back, he had two towels in his hands. "Here." He tossed one of them at Anna, with a small smirk.
He unfolded the towel, and plopped it on his head. He began rubbing vigorously, making an attempt to dry his hair. He'd have a shower later; after Anna left. But for now, he'd just have to work with what he could do. He didn't want Anna to leave right away anyways. Once he'd done enough with his hair, he dried off his face. Finally, he just held it still in one hand; looking at the girl across the way once more.

Anna watched him kick off his shoes and socks, her slender body unwavering on the doormat. She wasn't dripping anymore, just chilled and damp. When he disappeared into a different room of the apartment without saying anything, she arched an eyebrow slowly and wondered where he was going. Rather than say anything, she peeled her shirt enough to get rid of the sticky feeling against her skin.
It didn't take long, once she was standing with nothing to do, to realize she was wearing four separate layers. Carefully taking off Teddy's jacket and hanging it on a hook near the front door, Anna slipped out of her long shawl and pulled off the second layer. With only pants and a decorative golden shirt remaining, she wasn't nearly as wet or cold. She wasn't entirely sure what to do with either of them, so she just stood in silence with both articles of clothing in her hand until Teddy walked back in the room.
She smiled a little shyly when he blushed. "It's fine," she said with a nod, glancing down at the clothes in her hands. He disappeared again shortly after, though with a warning this time, only to reappear with a towl in hand. Perfect, she thought. Setting the clothes carefully and methodically near the door and far enough on the mat to avoid wetting the floor, Anna untied the messy bun on her head. Flipping her hair over, she dried her hair as quickly as possible before throwing her hair over her head and combing through the tangles with her slender fingers. She might not be entirely dry, but it was much better than she had been when they first entered the complex.
While she combed her fingers through her long, auburn hair, Anna looked at the ground. She wasn't staring or focusing on anything; her eyes just usually dropped to the floor when she was concentrating on her hair. Realizing she was being silent and probably a little rude, she lifted her eyes to find him looking at her from across the room. With a small blush, she slipped off her shoes and brushed the towel across her feet.
"Thanks," she said with a smile. Playfully hesitant, Anna lowered her chin and pretended to almost take a step onto the carpet. "Am I safe to cross now?" she asked with a half-smile. She was practically dry and was just beginning to warm up, though goosebumps remained on her small arms and chest.

Teddy noticed that Anna had started getting comfortable; what with her taking some of the layers off. That gave him a more relaxed feeling. It seemed that Anna was making herself at home, in a way; which meant that she was comfortable in his apartment. He scratched absentmindedly at a spot on his neck, before yawning. She wasn't saying much, so Teddy just kept quiet.
"I'll be right back ... again." He turned and went to his room once more. He closed the door behind him just to be sure, before he pulled his wet pants off of his skin. It was harder than it looked. He ended up sitting on the floor, as he pulled them off. Finally, he got back to his feet. He dried off his legs, changed his undergarment, and pulled on another pair of jeans.
Now completely dry accept his hair, he left his room. As he walked by he tossed the towel and clothes into the laundry hamper. Teddy reappeared near the door, and he leaned against the wall casually. He came out just in time to hear what Anna had to say, about coming into his apartment. "What, you think I'm gonna say no?" he asked, with a playful tone.
"Are you thirsty? Hungry?" he added, before pulling himself off the wall. He didn't walk away quite yet, he decided he'd wait for Anna this time. It was rather rude how he just walked away and left Anna awkwardly at the door. Or, he guessed it was awkward. Whether it was or not for her, he didn't know. Either way, it was still rude for him to do that.

"Possibly," she returned with a playful smile. Pale blue eyes lingered on his jesting smile and warm eyes. This was a side of Teddy she had never really gotten to see before. He wasn't always reserved, but Anna hadn't experienced this sweet, almost adorable quality about him. It made her bite her lower lip to keep from grinning when she crossed the room and stood beside him.
Anna absently pushed her fingers through the hair at the crown of her head when he asked if she wanted anything. "I'm ok," she said. "I think I've seen enough water to keep me content for a few more hours." Her eyes flickered from the apartment back to Teddy and his gaze. She wondered what he would do if she took his hand again, or leaned in to kiss his cheek. Would he be offended? Anna didn't think so, but she wasn't sure if she was ready to attempt it yet or not. Besides, she had made the first move. It would be awful if he had mistaken the kiss for something less... a sweet nothing that was temporary and evaporated when the clouds cleared.
Instead of taking his hand, though, she just watched him in silence for a few seconds. Her lips were turned in a smile, albeit a small one, and her eyes were unwavering. When she realized it might be awkward on his part, she closed her lips and looked around the living room. "What now?" she asked quietly, nibbling her lower lip before looking up at him beneath arched eyebrows. She touched the back of her neck with her hand, rubbing the goosebumps that were just beginning to fade. With a short laugh, she added, "This shouldn't be awkward, should it?"

Teddy chuckled lightly, and shrugged. "Well yeah. I guess I could've said no. But I wouldn't." he pointed out. He felt like that didn't need explaining. They'd just kissed in the rain, and he felt it was a rather romantic moment. Even if it was a one-time thing, and nothing else would come of it. But he had a small feeling that there already was something coming out of it. He wasn't ready to believe it entirely though. He was just going to have fun with Anna, and see what happens.
He watched calmly as she crossed the room, and ended up standing beside him. Well, it was a push in the right direction anyways. Well, not a push. More like a light tap. Either way, they were headed the way that Teddy wanted to go. "Yeah, no kidding, eh?" Did he just say 'eh'? He hadn't said 'eh' in so long. But he did grow up in Canada, and that was the so-called Canadian accent. His eyes stayed on Anna, but he glanced around a little after he spoke. He had an urge to hold her hand, or something along those lines. But he didn't want to move too fast with her.
He sighed lightly, as he glanced around again. What was there to do in his apartment? They could eat, but that had already been taken off the table. Teddy wasn't all that hungry anyways, having just ate a little something not so long ago. "Uhh.. we could watch a movie," he offered. The situation was getting a little awkward, and he honestly didn't want that to happen. "No, it shouldn't." He answered her question quietly, before turning his attention back to her. Now, the question was; how do they get it unawkward?

Both of them could feel the awkward little cloud settling over them. It didn't need to be awkward. There was no reason or explanation for it. But nevertheless, it was happening. When he responded and seemed a little nervous, Anna swallowed her pride and prayed her confidence was as strong as she hoped it was.
"Is this..." Anna's words trailed off, but her lips were parted in a struggled attempt to form a word or phrase she couldn't quite put her finger on. "....something?" she finally asked. Her eyes moved quickly between Teddy's right and left eye. Her own eyes were hesitant but hopeful, wishing the answer was yes but not wanting to move forward into the something if they both had different views on where they stood. "I mean, should we..." With an uncertain laugh, Anna looked down at the ground and then back up once more. She didn't say anything else, she just took the tiniest step forward and took his hand, giving it a small squeeze and watching him anxiously.

Teddy lifted his hand up once more, scratching at his head. He didn't really need to scratch it, he was just fidgeting again. Along with this awkwardness between them, he was becoming a little nervous. Because usually, awkwardness would lead to one of the two people walking away. Teddy didn't really want that to happen.
The next words that slipped from Anna's mouth both surprised him, and relaxed him. He hadn't expected them to come, but was thankful that they had. "W-well, I would like it to be something." His voice was quiet, and he'd stuttered a little at the beginning. But neither of those factors made his statement untrue. What he just said was one of the most meaningful things he'd said to someone outside his family.
ooc; Suck-ish. Sorry!

A blush crept into her smooth cheekbones but her eyes danced with newfound excitement. After the years of yearning and thinking she would be an old spinster with too many cats... well, not exactly, but still. Anna never dated anyone in middle school or high school. Unfortunately, her personality meshed more with males as friends rather than romantic interests. She was practically everyone's best friend. It was part of who she was, if you will. The prospect of having someone actually liking her as more than a friend was new and exciting.
Her eyes sparkled when she nodded and responded, "I would, too." Her hand remained in his palm, subtle but comfortable. His hands were stronger than her own and managed to project a feeling of security Anna couldn't help but fall for. She was a hopeless romantic and couldn't be blamed for feeling the silly youthful joy a girl normally feels when they get their first boyfriend. The butterflies remained but felt more at ease. It was more a tingling feeling than anything nervous or anxious.
"You know," she said, shifting her weight to one foot and letting her eyes drop temporarily to the soft carpet beneath her bare feet. "When I walked in on you playing that day, I thought you would hate me forever." She blushed, looking up to give him a shy, embarrassed smile. "It's good to know you don't," she added with a small laugh, subconsciously giving his hand a tiny squeeze.

Teddy couldn't help but get a little nervous as he awaited her answer. 'What if she doesn't want it? What if she just wants to know how I feel, so she knows if she has to run away now?' he asked himself. His gaze moved from Anna to the floor as he thought of these things. But she was holding his hand, so that could mean something. Oh, how confused this boy could get. And he sure didn't need anyone else to help him with that. He could confuse himself in a second.
His nervousness was put to rest, when Anna said those three little words. Amazing, how the phrase 'I would, too' could make someone feel extremely comfortable. Relaxation had taken a hold of Teddy's body, and clung for dear life. He felt happy and joyous and excited. Throw in the urge to want to kiss the girl in front of him, and you've got Teddy. Accept he didn't give in to the urge. For sure, not. This was completely unlike his first girlfriend. "Good to hear it." he commented, with a smile.
Teddy couldn't help but let a soft chuckle pass his lips once she'd spoke again. He never really understood why some people were afraid of him, and thought right away that he would get angry with something that happened. "Yeah, well it was hard for me to be angry with such a pretty girl." he said, a little color rising in his cheeks. It was a compliment, and he shouldn't have felt embarrassed to say it. But he did, and he couldn't help it.
