I would like to bring something to light. Something that is NOT tolerated not only here at Rutherford, but at other RPG forums as well, every other RPG forum. We have a thief amongst us here at Rutherford. One of our beloved characters, Petunia Olivia Taylor, made by the one and only Chell, not by anyone else was stolen and used on other sites. How could a character get stolen you might be thinking. Well first they would have had to register, because the accepted applications board is closed to guests. Once they joined their IP address would be logged into the system. They would act all friendly and seem like a good member when really they've stolen a character from right under our noses, copied the application practically word for word. That thief then joined one of our affiliates [which was where they went wrong], and posted the application there, taking credit for an amazing application that they didn't even write. Also they used the same signature image that Chell had for Petunia. The application was posted just 2 days ago. 2 days ago. You see how fast we get onto these things. I was notified about it last night but had to go out so I couldn't deal with it until today. With help from the admin at Best Kept Secrets && Biggest Mistakes, we were able to find out who the thief was thanks to the magic of their IP address. Which member done this you might be asking now. Well it was none other then DEANNA. Her characters are Hope Anderson and Elliemae Howards. Some of you have talked to her in the cbox, as have I, so I can only imagine your shock to find out that someone who seems nice is actually a character thief. I know that there are a few with some slaughtering in mind, which is why I have made this thread instead of just banning her like I did the other character stealer that came here and thought they could get away with it. But before the slaughtering begins, I would like to hear Deanna's side of the story. I want to know what she has to say for herself. What her motive to steal the character was. I just want to know why she done it, which I guess is what Chell would like to know aswell. People may comment but don't go overboard just yet. Let her talk, let her have her say. So Deanna, what do you have to say for yourself? Also as a note to future character thieves, it will not be tolerated and you won't get away with it so don't even try to fool us.

"WTF. SWEAT. BLANK."
That's what my friends would've said, because we're all retards at heart. xP
Anyway, Deanna... wow, I don't know what to say. This truly is unexpected and surprising; something I definitely didn't expect from someone who seemed so 'sweet'. I guess, you can never really trust people online, or anybody else for that matter. To Chell, darling I hope this ordeal won't ever stop you from role-playing. You're amazing at it, and the fact that she had the nerve to steal your character just means that you're that good.

Wow, that's balls. Dude seriously, I'm not trying to slam you but why? Doesn't that make you feel like the most uncreative person ever? I dunno, your new character would be totally unoriginal and that's whats so fun about RPing, the Character comes from you.
Whatever, your choice.

Wow that's pretty messed up to steal Chell's character or really ANYONES character that isn't your own. I thought you were a good role player Deanna but now that just makes me question whether any of your characters are your own you know? I hope you learn your lesson from this.

I've seen so much of this, it's really kinda sad. I've seen entire sites get copied, word for word, and I want to think that someone is just lazy. Wishful thinking, I guess. I've even had a thief tell me that 'copying is the highest form of flattery', what a load of crap! But I would really like to hear Deanna's reasons, and I hope she can learn from all this.
And chell, you're a wonderful RPer, and you make awesome characters. Don't let this ruin it for you. Rock on, chica!

I am just shocked, when I saw that you did this I was like no way. I mean why would you do such a thing. I mean I am flabbergasted, and all the words that I want to say I am going to keep to myself. It takes time to developed a character, and when a person makes that character they put a part of themselves in it. For you to steal a character is the lowest thing I have ever know a person to do. You should feel bad enough already. So I am not going to say any more, I just hope you have a good explanation for yourself.
And just like Evelyn said I thought you were better than that and it does have me wonder who else applications have you stole. But I am not going to accuse anything or point any fingers because I have no proof that you did steal other people applications. That is all I have to say, I am finish with this issue.

Wow. Just wow. I really don't know what to say... Does anybody? And I totally agree with Shane, your characters kind of take hold of your own personality, it's kind of like acting. It's really hard to believe that you'd want something that's not your own.
I'd like to peek into this thread like everyday... I'm really interested to see what you (Deanna) have to say. =(
And finally, to Chell: We completely feel for you, and I agree with, well, everyone, your characters are awesome, and it shows when you roleplay. Alike Alexia; "Rock On!" =D

Ew. stealing is just rude and stupid.
I've had my character stolen from me and I will tell you that it hurts, all your hard work put into the app, sigs and rps are wasted on someone who just can't rp so they steal.
Chell, i'm so sorry and I give you my sympathy. You're an amazing rper.

First off, I would like to say that I don’t agree with stealing characters but I also don’t believe that you should be putting her on the stage for everyone to throw tomatoes at her. This should be kept private, dealt with the staff of Rutherford University and Deanna herself and not plastered everywhere for everyone to see. It’s childish and not the best way to get to the bottom of things.
I don’t know, that’s just my thoughts. So I really have no comment because I don’t believe this is being dealt in the best possible way.

*nods* Actually, I kinda agree with what Christy said but what's done is done. Well, I've never RP'ed with either Deanna or Chell before so I wouldn't know anything but to Deanna, I hope you understand how sad it is to have your character stolen just like that.
I'm trying to go through this as maturely as I can but... I'm just confused.

I don't think this should be dealt with privately. Im doing this to show everyone that might even think about stealing characters that they won't be shunned and moved onto the next rp site. Im doing this to teach them a lesson that there really should be no mercy for people who do things like that. Its not fair for them to be able to basically get away with it, because think about it, all thats happening is them getting banned from one site, they can move on and do the exact same thing to other sites. They wouldn't have learnt no lesson. Besides some people already knew that Chell's character was stolen and im positive they would have wanted to know who done it, so im telling them. I appreciate your input though but honestly, I feel like im dealing with it the right way. and atleast we're not biting her head off and ripping her to shreads you know.

I have to agree with Mushu on this one. Yes, we've had a few character thieves in the past, but how are they ever going to learn their lesson if all that ever happens to them is a small ban? They could, just as easily, join another forum and do the same thing. We, as in the members here, aren't biting their heads off and instead are dealing this quite maturely if you ask me.
And Deb, what's so confusing?
